How do you like the 4r70? A lot of people try to talk me out of one and go with a th400 but no one can seem to justify why.

I'm torn also because I love banging gears at the track also, and not to toot my own horn, but I'm really good at it. But like 98 saleen said, he cut his times down significantly by going auto which is what makes me lean toward it

Yep I know the feeling man. Yeah if I was 100% set on making the car as fast as possible I would be more inclined to put an auto in it. But Im not doing a lot of bracket racing or anything. I really just like to get her out there and see what I can do

Friend of mine runs the RXT1200 in his car. It's been 8.99@167, so it holds power. Been low 1.4s on a drag radial, so its holding a decent launch too.

Thats awesome man. Yeah we are aiming for high 170s trap speed :)

Love it. fun to drive. Wouldn't change a thing. idk why people try to talk you out of it. They probably don't have any experience with it.

Freddy Brown 4R70 MVB, Trans brake with lock up converter. No O/D.. Rated to like 1500hp. It's fun :) Way more fun with this trans then the six speed was at the track and even on the street.
Wouldn't it have been better to get a three speed since you're not using overdrive? Or is it lighter than a three speed in this configuration?

Serious question. How fast have you been in the 1/4 with a manual trans?

Ok, so you’ve gone 9s with a stick.
So many think they want it but don’t realize all that it really takes to row a synchronized manual in a real street car into the 9s.
Hitting the easy button is going auto, and the reality is a MVB Auto is still a ton of fun, MUCH more consistent and will take at least 0.5-1 full secondoff the ETs.
Still doesn’t feel the same and have the unique flash the stick does, so it’s a tough call.
I’m also building a serious turbo Coyote and I’ll be using a Billet Lasala 6R80 that’s in the garage.

Not sure. I got this combo with Cf driveshaft etc all brand new for half the cost of new. So for me it was a no brainer.
