Just throwing this out there to generate some conversation and see what everyone is running for 1k whp++++ stick cars. I've looked at the RXT and Mantic but I'm wondering if I'll just be perpetually replacing them every year. My build isn't done yet but we are exploring some more options. Car is getting an AEM infintiy or Holley Dominator setup so I'll have assistance in the traction department.

For those wondering, its a 11:1, 302ci, cammed, teksid build, twin 64s, e85/e98, t56 magnum car.

Thanks for the thoughts and input!

I’m running a triple disc XClutch. I’m very happy with it running 9.55 at 4070#. I believe American Muscle carries them but I can get you in contact with their US employee Steve K.

My DYAD came with a dyno sheet showing it held 1330ft/lb of torque.
A bit misleading as you can easily check the PP clamping load.
Not saying the DYAD isn’t good, but he’s asking for 1000+rwhp.
Here’s my dyno sheet: 1046/951
My point is I’ve driven a Spec dual and XClutch triple at this level and the XClutch hands down.
Last bit of advice: DO NOT RUN THE MAGNUM LOW ON OIL, FULL 4qts and do the oiling mod to keep the input shaft cooled at that level.

Thanks for the replies guys! I completely forgot about the DYAD. I'll look into the XClutch, don't see much from any local companies but I will try and reach out to them on their site and get an idea of pricing.

Yeah the magnum is getting cryo-treated and the oil mod is also being done. I think we will end up somewhere in the 13-1400whp range and torque will be very close by so really the DYAD and the XClutch will be my only options. Mantic and McLeod wont really be enough I think

I can't speak about hp because I'm only around 700rwhp. But I'm running the dyad. Zero chatter and super light pedal. I only have about 600 miles on it.

i'm still a fan of the Mcleod rxt. I just replaced it with another one after about 7 years. I think the next time I need to replace it I'm going to look into a triple disc.

Thats awesome man. I do a lot of street driving but she gets put thru her paces. Plus when I turn her up at the track I want to be able to really let her eat.

I ran a RXT/T56Mag with 910rwhp with no issues. And about 7xx tq

I really love the RXT. I have 2 buddies with them and they feel great. I know the RXT1200 is only rated at 1200hp at the crank and we should be north of that at the wheel at the track. Throw in a 5-6k launch and I feel like we are going to have issues lol. I need to call McLeod and see what they have to say. Plus I was looking at their Pro Series line which is more than adequate rating wise but I wonder the street manners it would have

I'm surprised mine lasted as long as it did, and I threw plenty of 5k clutch dumps at it, albeit at a little lower hp but that's why I bought another one.

FWIW I went auto with a MVB. I cut a second off my 1/4 and picked up 10mph lol. Soooooo at that power level you likely won't stay manual that long.

its funny because one of my recent "fastest street car" magazines has an article about yandro ulloa's 7-second manual sn95 4valve. it makes 15xx hp and 12xx torque.

it details every spec and manufacturer of the car, but next to clutch it says, "not on your life!"

Yeah thats essentially what I need to decide. Pick a clutch that gets it done and accept that I need to replace it often enough or go auto lol

Trust me, I'm right on the cusp of going glide. The car is going to be 60% street 40% track give or take. So its a tough decision for me to make

Freddy Brown 4R70 MVB, Trans brake with lock up converter. No O/D.. Rated to like 1500hp. It's fun :) Way more fun with this trans then the six speed was at the track and even on the street.

How do you like the 4r70? A lot of people try to talk me out of one and go with a th400 but no one can seem to justify why.

I'm torn also because I love banging gears at the track also, and not to toot my own horn, but I'm really good at it. But like 98 saleen said, he cut his times down significantly by going auto which is what makes me lean toward it

Friend of mine runs the RXT1200 in his car. It's been 8.99@167, so it holds power. Been low 1.4s on a drag radial, so its holding a decent launch too.
