LS460 all the way. I can’t imagine a better commuter for long hauls. Just make sure and get one optioned with the Mark Levinson stereo system.

OP I suggest steering away from an expensive daily to upkeep/watch get run into the ground.

I beat around in a 2012 Elantra Limited. It's comfortable and gets banging MPG. But I drive a lot, and the last thing I want is to watch an expensive ride I own get destroyed. That's why I drive it and the wife who works 3 miles away drives a new civic.

I get it. However, I went the opposite direction because I wanted something as nice as possible for my commute and didn't care as much about the wear and tear. I added a bunch of PPF and feel better about it.

OP - also check out the Audi S6 and S7. They're designed primarily to be straight line missiles capable of eating up miles and miles of highway as comfortably as possible.

I'm gonna save you thousands right now: choose Ford/Dodge/Chevy.

The newer cars are going to have the comfort and the tech ....you don't need MB or BMW. Unless you are shitting thousands, and want a car in the shop 24/7, go for a MB or BMW.

Hell, even a Gen2 Viper will be reliable. It's comfy, reliable, and GAINS sell value. Buy a beemer and lose your ass on repairs and overall value.

My buddy has a ctsv that he daily’s. He loves that thing. Would check all boxes and good for family.

4 doors for family
Supercharged
Nice interior
Big brakes
Pretty good on gas if you watch the pedal
Auto for commuting

I looked at these and they’re amazing cars. But 21 mpg on the highway is optimistic and not what I’d consider pretty good.

While the commute is 2 1/2 hours, it’s only done once a week so I’m not putting 50k miles on it a year or anything like that.
Also, did you know I was a heli pilot when you made the helicopter for the commute comment? If not, that’s pretty funny.

I didn't even notice your avatar until you posted this! LOL. In that case DEFINITELY get a helicopter!

He is only commuting once a week 2 1/2 hours. Not too big of a deal on gas for that amount of commute.

I would choose the Genesis over the Porsche. The cost of ownership will be less, insurance will be less, if it's a family car and the kids break/damage/scratch something, repairs will be less, and it is a quality car.

It may not be as fun as the Porsche, but you're looking for a family/commuter car, not a toy.

I would never long distance commute in a german luxury car, If you want comfort, Get into a Lexus/Acura. Comfortable but still has the japanese reliability
