Yo down the shore (think Atco air) these things would hurt some F-body & Mustang feelings. They'd then break and need repair but for a few minutes they were fast. And you've never felt torque steer until you felt turbocharged K-car chassis.

Friend of mine had one that was built and blowing 32psi...it was fast as hell and RIP the steering wheel out your hands when it wasn't broke...and we broke it often lol

He had a laser, conquest, and 2 daytonas... he loved those things...and to be honest they were reasonably cheap ( in racecar money) to play

Oh for sure. I grew up on turbo dodges. My Dad had a GLH and my best friends dad had a GLH-S that he actually rally raced. Good friend of mine now has a few including a Shelby Shadow(Yes those exist too). Dodge had the turbo market figured out in the 80's but they didn't know how to market it and were ahead of there time.

A neighbor years ago had a mint 85-86 Dodge Omni GLHS(the faster one). Gave me a ride down the street one day and when that thing spooled up it felt like we we going into the drainage ditch. Nearly crapped myself. I think it made something like 170hp and basically weighed like an empty beer can. Turbo lag out the wazoo also which made it come on that much stronger. Total death trap.

The only thing that comes close to that was a Mazdaspeed 3 with all the Cobb goodies. Definitely went two lanes over when my buddy hit it on the highway with some trash all-seasons.

Buddy in high school had a K-car.
Was a Sundance "Duster" 2 door 5 spd with a 3.0?N/A motor....
That little bugger could really haul the mail...shook down a local 91 cobra one night for him(he wasn't good at driving)

I was very impressed with it, in high school....

How about the AWD Tempo that I believe you could get as a 5 speed. I know they also made a diesel version as well but I don't think that was AWD or a 5 speed.

My buddy in high school had a turbo k car 2.2 I believe, in a color akin to I shit regularly brown. I'll have to do some research. We did some incredibly dumb shit in that thing on bone cruises.

Ah the elusive 91 Cobra, well done ;) . But yeah those 3.0 Dusters were quick.

Good find, I forgot about them. There was also a Tempo Sport that the marketed as a mini SHO with I think a 3.0l ?

How about these? 1989-1993 Cadillac Allante. The 92 & 93 had the 300hp Northstar. I worked at a Caddy dealer briefly in '92 and these things were fast for their day.
But to buy one you had to be a certain rank of Dago and own at least 5 gold chains. It was for when you got too old for the Corvette had to sell it because you just had your hip replaced and they hadn't invented Viagra yet

I had the same thought but then I saw he was from Canada and well he isn't wrong. Ford had a cobra model in the great white north before the 93 model year like here in the states. It wasn't anything other than decals. So i guess you could say that was another normal car we didn't know existed.
