I was in Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and spent most of my time in the MC-130H Combat Talon II. It was designed to fly very low to the ground, at night and in the weather to get special forces in/out and resupplied.

Were you TACP? If so, I have a good buddy that was there for a while and I'm sure you probably know him.

I was a pilot in Special Ops. I hauled all sorts of people/organizations in the back. Our mission was long-range infil, exfil and resupply into denied areas... anytime/any place.

Oh gotcha. When I hear AF SOF I immediately think of TACP for some reason. I flew with the 160th while doing training ops with Marsoc for 2 weeks and it is probably some of the best memories I have from when I was in.

Did you ever work with the 353rd Special Operations in Korea for any of the Foal Eagle stuff? Was out there a handful of times, actually got to fly in one of your AC the one year doing low-level missions near the border...pretty wild what those can do compared to our old ass C-130's lol.

Yes! I was in the 353rd Special Operations Group. I did Foal Eagle a few times. The MC-130H Combat Talon II was and still is a very capable platform.

Google purchased the hanger, which was de-skinned due to hazards (lead paint etc). Plan is to re-skin and use the hanger for nefarious google stuff last I heard. Maybe @treynor can fill us in?

They had some great planes developed there. Lots of VTOL craft were tested at Moffett. I used to love the P-3s flying around all day and the nasa u-2 roaring takeoffs at night.
