Finally home from my 2nd annual Tail of the Dragon adventure

From NC to NH yesterday was 1030 miles in 15hr 50mins

A total of 2700 miles since Tuesday at 33.7 avg MPG and a total of 13 different states. NH, MA, CT, NY, PA, NJ, MD, VA, WV, TN, NC, SC, and GA.

Sampled some of the absolute best driving roads in the entire country in the area known as the Smokey Mountains:

Tail of the Dragon - Needs no introduction. 318 corners in just over 11 miles.

Cherohala Skyway - A beautiful mountain pass that peaks at over 5300 feet in elevation. Fast sweeping bends. Stunning views

Moonshiner 28 - A mountain pass that has wonderful highly banked corner after corner. Travels from TN all the way to GA.

Devils Triangle - Even more challenging, and definitely more dangerous than the Dragon, with significantly less traffic.

Blue Ridge Parkway - Did this at night, so not much scenery, but a great driving road nonetheless.

Awesome trip! Thanks for sharing it looks like you had a blast. I never truly fell in love with my focus ST until my first trip to the mountains. Mountain roads are where the FiST and FoST really shine and show their personalities

Definitely some great roads in that region. Glad you had a good time and no troubles!

Know I always look forward to my trip or two up that way every year.

That's what it's all about! Everyone, myself included, is always wanting the next new expensive thing and you go out and show what being an enthusiast is all about. Kudos!

With the few mods I have, and the Bridgestone RE71 on my car, I really felt like if I pushed, I would be one of the faster cars/drivers there, especially that day.

I wasn't accelerating much between the bends, more of just holding my speed.

The amount of turn in grip the car has is insane.

Plus, it's only 2640lbs
very cool!!! thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks man
Man that looks like a ton of fun.
It was a blast.

No accidents and no tickets is the cherry on the sundae
So badass!
Thanks man

Yeah last year I only did the dragon and the Skyway. This year we added more roads and was glad I did

Nothing like putting a hurting on 75k cars in my 22k econobox :)

It really is my favorite automotive event of the year

Did the Dragon with my Boss 302. My dashcam didn't do audio, so the wife filmed it with her tablet. Lucky I didn't end up with a seat full of puke as she was turning green watching the tablet with the landscape going by in her peripheral vision. Had a lot of fun that day.

Yeah my first trip last year was similar with my Fiance. This time I went solo
Car looks killer. Gotta love the Fiesta ST on a back road.
Thanks man. It's a fun daily for sure.

Just gonna put this here, I'm WAY more impressed with the Fiesta ST than the Focus ST. There are way more "holy shit I can't believe that car is so fast" moments in my memory for Fiestas than Foci.

Great videos and photos. Awesome that you were able to do so many mountain roads this time. If you're gonna do it, do it to the max. LOL. Your FiST looks as great as ever. I love the wheels!

I've had Focus ST, Focus RS, Fiesta ST now in that order.

Fiesta has been the best DD for me
