I purchased a good used gen 3 kit a few weeks ago , and installed it yesterday. I followed the instructions and routed everything per the instructions, but I may have missed a step because my IC fluid temps doesn’t get cooler in-fact it does the opposite. I’m sure it has something to do with the orfice tube. I kept the stock orfice tube because I saw no where one would fit with the kit.

in the stock pic on the KC site it shows what looks like a orfice tube housing on the inlet from condenser and did not come with this kit per the previous owner and confirmed by a KC rep. Can’t find any pictures showing the orfice tube location. Thanks

How did u keep the stock orfice tube since its houses in the line that is removed from the system?
I think the previous run had an inline orifice tube in the line to the killer chiller

Ok I should’ve been clear on what vehicle I’m running the the KC on. I don’t think there is a huge difference in the lines. The hose that comes from that exit the condenser to the evap. Was removed. The factory orfice tube on my car is not in the line remove it sits in the tube right before the evap. Btw it’s an 04 Mercury marauder

Haha well yea that makes a huge difference.

So if you have an orfice after the killer chiller that means in the killer chiller you have high-pressure liquid. The orifice turns it to a metered low pressure liquid. So your car ac probably is fine but the killer chiller ain't working... Need to get the orfice before the killer chiller.

As far as other having that same experience, is gonna be hard since this is the terminator thread

Yep I know what thread I’m on but it works the same. One the gen 3 i read that the orfice tube was in the condenser to KC line. I don’t see where an orfice tube would fit in the line unless I’m missing something

What you say makes plenty sense about the orfice tube before the KC. So I’m missing

On my Chiller (Gen 2 ??) the orifice tube is just 2 -8 AN couplers with a GM "white" orifice tube inside.

I the previous owner send me an copy of the conversation with Joe at KC. I’ve removed the previous owner Name to protect his privacy. I’m not here say anyone’s wrong, I’m here simply to gain knowledge to install the KC correctly for my setup and help others who many run into the same issues if their buying a pre-used item.

The blue one is a better orfice tube than the stock one. It is commonly referred to as the "Ford blue orifice tube"
