Most the the things I see on eBay now are products straight from China or the like, I hardly see anything from private sellers.

Anyone else do it?

Their fees are ridiculous.

I was doing it. Don't do it. They 100% play the game where they make the sellers their b**** and 100% cater to the buyer. Buyers can pretty much buy something, and decide to return it under any circumstances and you're forced to comply even if you state no returns on ebay. Their fees are ridiculous. 10% plus 10% of the shipping costs and paypal takes their cut. Screw eBay.

I haven't sold anything on there in years. Pretty much rely on craigslist, facebook marketplace, and occasionally apps like Letgo

Buy on ebay all the time. Find tons of good stuff + deals. As far as selling, not as much as i used to but when i do I factor in there fees before excepting an offer or jack up the reserve. No big deal

I sell about $200k a month on ebay. Fees are high, but you have to also take into consideration that they run SEO for you. We get a lot of calls outside of ebay from it where we can by pass their fees.

just make sure you cover your ass in the event whoever buys something from you tries to return it or charge back their money

I often list my items on eBay and if I get a prospective buyer, depending on what I am selling I'll make the deal outside of eBay, that's how I ended up getting my dad's C5 Vette sold to a guy from North Carolina. Can't remember the exact cost but if you're selling vehicles or other high dollar items then it seems like that's where eBay adds on a shit ton of fees.

I list random stuff there from time to time and for me the fee's for those haven't been absurd.

I’ve sold half a dozen cars on eBay. Works great. Never had a major issue.

What are you selling, if you don’t mind me asking?

sell on there quite a bit. Average about 30K/year in sales as a side hustle. Ebay favors the buyers is eh..as a seller you have to word your listings very carefully to not get charge backs and fiddle with the default settings to not enable returns and block certain buyers. Also when a seller wants to return something, you have to ask questions in a way to admit the seller bought the wrong item etc. GREAT PICTURES HELP A TON TO WORD OFF SCAMMERS OR SHADY BUYERS. Plus I marked all my items that I sold so I know if the return item was mine. Also, I called ebay probably once a week and their customer service was quite helpful. I sell used automotive parts. The fees were high but my profit margins were quite high and it was a place to sell to where I could list the item as a BIN and forget about it until it was sold; the ebay platform works for me.

Amazon I can't figure out for the life of me. I have items on there as well but the sales are uber slow compared to ebay. I know I have to fiddle with seo but don't have the time to learn it. Ebay is my go-to.
