I seen this thread on the side Coyote swap and I want to do an engine swap in my 2008 Shelby GT/SC. I am NO fan of the 4.6 even if supercharged but when I had my first drive of a Coyote with 6r80 in a 2013 it felt much stronger than 460hp and I got hammered by my fellow 07/08 Shelby GT owners when I said the 5.0 Coyote w/ the 6r80 felt way more powerful than my 4.6 w/ Kenne Bell and the 5spd automatic. My 2008 Shelby GT/SC is my favorite Mustang I own and I want to swap in the 5.2 crate engine w/ a Whipple and 6r80 and looking for shops who can actually do this swap so I can get a few quotes
Nah, stick with the 5.0L Gen 2 Coyote and 6R80 add boost and make 800rwhp reliably.

Another rec for Power By The Hour too.

The coyote would be tempting but isnt a terminator swap easier. Won't almost every component of a terminator bolt directly into a fox. You can even swap wiring harnesses and it all goes right in since its the same chassis?

the tuning capabilities for a terminator are still no where near where they are for a coyote. That alone is worth the extra effort.

I bet the megasquirt pnp for the terminator is more than capable and probably for not much more than sct crap tune.

Oh it definitely is, but you can use something like hp tuners on a coyote, which is already an immensely established platform.

Good question, I'm not sure. For now I'll keep rocking the little 306. I'm tempted to slap a centri blower on it though if I can score a deal. Probably only put the car in the 340-360rwhp range. But not 100% sure.

I should put the car on a scale, curious what it weighs. The IRS adds some weight.

Actually the Coyote swap is very straight forward. Tons of companies make all the swap parts you would need. Ford Racing makes the control pack to run the engine all ready striped of all the crap you dont need. There are also complete stand alone set ups available now. All the factory wiring is in my car minus the engine bay harness. Using the control pack everything in my car will work exactly like it did in 91 and doesnt require hardly any wiring at all. Power by The Hour is the main source for all the swap parts along with Maximum Motorsports. TOns of companies make long tube swap headers as well. No expert on this but I think you can just blow a fox apart and just swap everything over into the fox. Several fox cars running full cobra interior on them. That should allow for a very smooth setup.

Funny you said blower, that's what I had planed to do. It would make just enough power to be fun.
