What makes a color popular?

I love orange and yellow but, like on the Lexus forum, they go crazy over the dark blue. Same here with the Sonic blue. I ended up getting a blue GT500 since that color was the closest match to my Mystichrome.

On the FB groups, they really don’t like yellow but I like it. It’s a nice, bright color. I never understood the hate for yellow but those same people will go crazy for orange. To me, those colors are close.

Well, not really, but it's bright like Orange. I'm just saying that on FB groups, etc. there is a real hate for yellow and lots of love for orange (I'm not going to lie, I love CO too)

orange is my fav color

I honestly don't know if I have a favorite color. But when I was looking, I specifically was looking for redfire or sonic blue back in 2010.

I haven't seen every single color in person, so it's hard to say.

I miss my SB 04. Should have kept it. Moving forward, I wouldn’t seek another SB unless it was a 04-05 Saleen. But it’s been a few years since I’ve seen one for sale local or on the boards. Moving forward , if Ford would pull it together and go SB for even 1 year, I think it would look sexy on the current generation. Heck, I’d buy new just because of that color.

OP. You asked what makes a color popular? The answer is what you're getting in alot of these replies...... Personal opinion....... then, those who express their opinions try to persuade everyone else into thinking that same thing thus creating "hype and hysteria" over that color.
That said, I'm sure someone will say that I'm wrong and cite "facts" about their buddy who sold their comp orange for $40k so that's why CO is the most popular.... or MC, or ________ (fill in the blank color)

Personally, I think it's all a bunch of BS....
I appreciate all colors on coupes (no verts for me).

When I purchased my car in 09, I considered a CO, MC, Black and ended up with my SY.
Never looked back and never will.

I feel fortunate every day that I have a Terminator and appreciate everyone else's car who I see and meet at shows and cruise nights.
Most owners are pretty cool with the exception of the occasional tool bag that I meet here and there.

I signed up for SVTP back in 2008 after I purchased my coupe. I didn't start posting on this site until years later because I thought this site was full of tool bags back then LOL. Bunch of cool people on this site now...…..
