Even if he did say “Police, put your hands up!” he should not be justified in the least for shooting her. To take it even further, I think she still would be justified if she got a round off and hit him in the dome piece. It is not like criminals are somehow unable to say the same thing.UPDATE: Woman Shot By Fort Worth Police Officer In Her Home Pointed Gun At Window

Just playing the what if game here; was the neighborhood predominantly black or higher crime rate area? If it is either or, I can almost guarantee that the the tactics used are different. It’s no secret that if something like this was reported in a more affluent area going to the door and announcing that you’re the police would have been the first step, even if it was a suspected burglary. Unfortunately, a lot of majority black areas are in the lower scales of socio-economic status and therefore crime is policed much more heavily. And when I say heavily I mean the approach to a situation by police is highly different. This incident does not come across as anything except a woman living her life in her home with a busy body calling the cops who end up sending someone extremely on edge and completely out of his element and over his head. So many times a shooting is justified, as it ends up resulting from the actions of suspect or person of interest or what have you, yet the community gets wrongly outraged but in this case you can't blame them.
I vaguely recall your situation. Can you elaborate? You might get surprised by the lack of support. I have personally experienced my "Brethren" stand back and wait until the verdict and my win, before "helping" and claiming victory and credit for themselves.
Their leaders call us to the legislature to show up in force; we get up and speak and say all the things they are afraid of saying; they cheeer us on; then when the shit hits the fan, they are no where to be found.
