I've seen old threads about this, and when I think about it, it just makes my head spin. In the future I would like to do a swap in my 90 coupe mustang I recently bought.

I've been researching it some lately, and I'm leaning towards the coyote. I think a coyote with a blower and a auto would be fun!

I may start collecting parts if I find some good deals.

Here is the most recent picture of my car. It does have terminator seats and a irs.

Coyote no doubt.
I see no reason for Terminator swapping as it would be roughly same money and work (maybe even more with termi swap?) for less power and older technology.

I love love love the Terminator. It was a great car, but if I was to do an engine swap hands down a Coyote. Just a better platform and easier to come by parts now a days.

I have to agree on the Coyote swap, it would be awesome to swap a Terminator engine. But it is less efficient, and much more difficult to find parts for.

If I ever get to build my next project, it will be a Coyote Swap Fox Body

I'd want a 18+ 5.0 with the 10 speed auto. Point and shoot. If that combo can get a heavy ass 2018+ Mustang in the 11s stock, imagine the performance with 700 less pounds.

Keep it simple, a power adder isn't required. 500hp and stock drivability in a Fox body is a recipe for fun.

You have a terminator Bdubbs. If it were me coyote swap all the way. N/A 400HP. Throw a blower on it later. You could probably source a motor out of an F150 at a junkyard on a budget too.

Op you have a terminator so I would probably stay away from that idea. The coyote swap can't really be beat for n/a power and reliability. Or maybe a built 347/383?

Either one is a good engine but for parts availability I would go with the Coyote.
The one thing that I don't like about the Coyote in the fox is the sound of the engine. I really like the push rod motor sound in that car and when I start the Terminator there is just something missing. I know, I'm crazy but I love the sound of a cam and expect to hear it when in a fox, and you can't get that without pushrods. You younger guys probably have no problem with this but this is just me.

I have thought about building a fox with a LS motor, going with the front mounted distributor, painting the engine Ford blue and using Holley for the computer so I could run a breather, that's how bad I want to hear the sound in that car.
Bdubs, you have the perfect car for that swap with many of the upgrades already done.

351w with Holley Sniper kit...

@Bdubbs Coyote all the way. Twins if you can, but if you need to pass emissions, then Whipple 3.0 or VMP Gen 3.

neither keep the fox as stock as you can and if you want a coyote just buy a newer stang with one already. Far less work and cost is the same.

I have a buddy getting ready to do a hellcat swap into a notch. Should make for a damn fun car.

personally I’d do a little different but still Ford, like find a gt350 motor to swap or the 13/14 GT500 motor

Some good ideas everyone. I'll be honest, the sound of a pushrod motor sounds amazing to me.

Long term goal will likely be a coyote. Like other's have mentioned, I already have a terminator and parts will be easier to find.

From a little research, it seems like the newer coyotes from the mustangs are built a little stronger than the ones found in trucks.
