Hey guys, I've got a whipple charged gt that has developed a tick that turns into a rattle around 2500 rmp. It started about a month ago when I was turning onto a highway, under normal driving, and heard something pop. It is fairly quiet from up top but you can hear it ticking from around the back of the front wheels. When you rev it with the hood up it sounds like its coming from the drivers side valve cover. I've checked my exhaust and nothing seems to be hitting. My only other thought is a bad rod bearing but I have no signs of low/bad oil pressure or knock. I've also taken it to ford and they couldnt didnt know whay it was and said it wasnt throwing any codes. Any input or ideas are much appreciated

Hate to say it, but I think a rod bearing is a likely answer. I suggest cutting the oil filter open [ use an oil filter cutter NOT a hack saw ] and look for bearing material. This is one of the cheapest and easiest tests to do and if bearing material is present it's definitive.

Sorry to not respond. I've settled that it is a bad bearing. I'm going to be purchasing a gen 2 block, timing chain kit, opgs, cs, head gaskets, and oil. Does anyone know the part number for the oil filter relocator? Also is there anything i'm forgetting? Thanks

Where do you plan on purchasing a gen 2 block from? Ford does not sell the short bocks anymore
