Currently rocking the stock Eaton blower on 93 pump gas, it made 450/500 and it's time to start the upgrades. Engine has about 5000 mile since rebuilt with Manley Platinum Series Pistons 594120C-8 w/ Total Seal rings, Melling Performance Oil Pump w/ billet gears 10227, ARP Pro Series Connecting Rod Bolts 200-6207, ARP Main Stud Kits 156-5403, ARP Pro Series Cylinder Head Stud Kits 156-4101, new Clevite rod & main bearings. Billet Flow pulleys and 2lb lower. Afco dual pass HE with fans. Bassani mid length headers and mid pipe, 2.5 exhaust. Return style fuel system (not dead head) with -8 feed and return with Lethal fuel pump wiring harness. Will be installing Fore Innovations dual pump hat with TI Automotive F90000267 Fuel Pumps.

I plan on getting the Whipple Gen4 2.9 WX145ax – Non Crusher, I know but funds are limited and I just cut a hole in my fender for the JLT CAI and it’s gonna have to do.

Going to swap over to pump E85 and looking to make 800+rwhp with a few trips to Mexico and 1 trip to the track before they kick me out for not having a cage. So this is where my questions come in

1) – I have an opportunity to get some ID1300's (older version) at a great price and I'm concerned about installing them with such a low connector compered to standard injectors. Any advice on installation?

2) – I have Division X fuel rails, will this be a problem with the Whipple?

3) – What pulley should I start with to achieve hp goals?
Not looking to max out currently.

Thanks for the input.

I would contact ID. They have different adapters for different vehicles. By the time you buy the adapters it might not be worth buying used.

I have the newer ID1300X2's in my car and the connector is in the same location as the picture you posted. They will work, I had to open up my wiring harness and separate the injector wiring from the rest of the harness to get the needed length to reach the new injector connector location. I only had to do that with a few injectors, not all of them.

I run ID injectors and they all connect fine. It takes a little more time but they all connect and fit fine. I'd hop on them if I were you.
With a non crusher set up the division x rails work fine.
I'd start with the 3.5 upper that is provided and your 2lb lower. That should net you somewhere around 22lbs. If you need a little more you can do a 4lb lower ring or smaller upper.
Hang on tight, it's going to fly!

Thanks for the replies guys. Issue I need to figure out. My clearance under the hood is tight and can anyone tell me how the Whipple sits compared to the Eaton? Need to know how if the snout sits higher. I have about a 1/4" clearance now :(

Might have to do a 2.75 upper and 6.55 lower

Upper / Lower % RPM Boost
3.625 / 7.40 49 14289 17

3.625 / 8.60 42 16606 24
3.500 / 8.35 42 16700 24

3.000 / 7.40 40 17266 ?
3.000 / 8.10 37 18900 ?

2.750 / 6.55 42 16672 ?
2.750 / 7.40 37 18836 ?
2.750 / 8.10 34 20618 ?

A whippie sits a lot higher than a Stock Eaton. I believe the tvs sits much lower than whipple as well.

Nice! Another one to watch.....she gonna fly!

So 16,600 is roughly 24psi?! Damn, can't imagine spinning that blower 18,000+.....or 20,618??!! Lol

Those are my guesstimate numbers from what I've gathered. Looks like I'm not going to be able to fit this beast under the hood unless I cut a hole. Might have to go with the TVS since it's more like the stock Eaton in size. I really want to hit that 800rwhp level too!

I have ID injectors with Division x rails, exact same setup as you, zero issues.

Need help getting the pulley height measurements. This is what I’m working with. Anyone with a Whipple Gen4 2.9 or VMP Gen3 2.6 if you could take a measurement, that would be awesome.
Thanks for your help.

Measured from the pulley cross brace.

From the top of my pulley bridge to the top of my 3.625 pulley I'm at 8 1/4". This is on a gen4 2.9 whipple
Factory k-member, stock longbock and energy suspension poly motor mounts.

That’s what I was afraid of, Whipple is about an 1” taller and I don’t have the room in my Cobra swapped Fox.
Thanks for the info.

You better upgrade those head studs. ARP 156-4101 are not the good ones, I know 2 people who lifted a head with a 2.9 Whipple using those studs. They have since upgraded. You want the ARP 2000's.

Also I'd use the 274 fuel pumps, they have a higher internal bleed off pressure which will give you some headroom.

EDIT......most use K member spacers to gain the hood clearance they need.

Thanks Joe,

Looks like I'll be going the VMP 2.65 route. Don't want to add spacers / change hood plus with the head studs that I have doesn't seem like I'll be able to take advantage of the Whipple.

What's the max boost level you think these head studs will handle?
