"With launch control engaged and 61 percent of the weight on the rear tires, the C8 Corvette Z51 shot to 60 mph in a staggering 2.8 seconds on the way to an 11.1-second quarter mile at 123.2 mph." And that's the beginning; can't wait to see what a Z06 or ZR1 model will do. I love this with a passion!

The game has changed.

Trying to imagine the look on some Hellcat drivers face when he gets left in the dust by a C8 on the street...crazy performance for the $$$

Runs hard , this will be on the pair with C7Z on the street from a dig , it just shows how much better this ME platform is vs the old one

I hope it runs circles around the NFGT. No interviews to see whether or not you are worthy to purchase one, no less a s fraction of the Ford’s price.
Sounds like they built some understeer into the C8, to keep inexperienced drivers off the sidewalks. Doubt it will outlap a GT in standard Stingray trim, but then again, the aftermarket will be huge and I'm sure it wont take much to create an excellent handling car.

edit: understeer, not oversteer ;)

Understeer* sounds like a bit of a bummer in stingray trim as far as corners are concerned. Easy enough to tune out though.

The ****in amazing part to these numbers is that is they run at Fontana Raceway...The DA is very seldom less than 2000...This car would be considerably faster in the East...

Surrounded by libetards.
Been saying it since launch and this is confirming it.... this thing is going to be an ass kicking steal of a deal. Can't wait to see what the Z cars are packing. Bravo bowtie boys, from a lifelong Ford/Mustang fanboy.

Been a mustang guy my whole life and never been a corvette guy but this new C8 has changed that. Every review or image I see of it makes me want one more and more. Can't wait to see what the SC/turbo aftermarket does with the C8 chassis and LT2 engine!

not at my post...
LMR will be the first into 9s with a cammed one.
Change my Mind

AFAIK that ECU will be very difficult to crack, don't think we are going to see anything right away. HPtuners, Efi Live gotta figure it out before anyone shoves a donkey dick cam in one. Now a holley efi setup could probably be used for engine mgmt etc, piggyback type scenario, but doing that is still going to be a PITA...
