Today was dry and 41 degrees so I went out and made a couple 0-60 mph pulls and a couple 1/4 mile runs on some back roads using Sport Mode with no launch control.

My only modification to my 2018 SRT Durango is a mid-muffler delete replaced with custom x-pipe. Everything else is stock.

I managed a 0-60 mph 4.2 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 12.7 seconds.

Pretty impressive for a 5,500 lb. 3 row SUV.

Someone in my neighborhood has an all black SRT Durango. Looks pretty bad ass.

I like these over the explorer. What’s the gas mileage like? Looking for lead foot gas mileage. Not egg under gas pedal.

Sorry but I don't normally keep track of gas mileage. You also have to keep in mind you have to run 91 Octane or higher.

My last trip to Chicago (approx. 250 miles) I did check the performance page when I got home and it showed between 17-18 mpg.

I have the Jeep equivalent, so maybe 2-300 lbs lighter.
Highway driving at 80+, with mds turned off, it gets 18mpg.
70-30 hwy-city, in sport/track mode, I get 15 combined.
That's with decent takeoffs and not coasting in 8th gear.

All city I've gotten ~13+ driving hard but not like an idiot.

Both my edge sport and fusion sport sit around 19ish so all said that’s really not bad with the 392. Ecoboost lol.

Impressive for its weight. I’d love to have one of these but I can’t justify owning two SUVs.

Absolutely would be!
And, it'll go through the snow as well. :)

I'm looking forward to driving the DDSRT in the snow this winter.

I am also looking forward to finally being able to park in the garage during the winter. My previous 05 Ram was too tall, so it sat outside.
Having to scrape the windows and letting it warm up every morning during the winter got old fast.

That was one of the main reasons I traded in my '05 Ram Daytona as well. (Truck was beast though. Great truck and great looking.) I wanted the remote start with heated mirrors/heated seats/heated steering wheel and automatic defroster on warm. Can't be beat for the winter months.

Yeah, it should be pretty good in the snow. Let us know how it handles.
What tires are you going to be running in the snow?

Awesome rig OP.

So what are typical bolt-on mods for the SRT Durango's? Expected performance?

Nice ride, OP! Makes me miss my Jeep SRT even more...

It's not good...at all. I had a 2016 Jeep SRT. It was averaging 12.7mpg for my normal daily commute to and from work. That's about 50/50 city street and highway with a decent amount of stop and go. The best mpg I ever got, and I was trying hard to conserve gas, was 18mpg on a 400+ mile trip from GA to WV. The SRT was an expensive car to daily: it ate brakes, it ate tires and it was thirsty! All of that said, it was an incredibly awesome daily driver.

Idk how the Durango is faster than the jgc but it is. Nice suv!

I'm not sure about that. I was able to barely walk away from a Durango SRT with my Jeep SRT. The difference seems to be the 'lightweight' wheels that came on the night edition vs the standard extra-heavy wheels.

For this winter I will be running the OEM 295/45ZR20 Pirelli all season tires.

You do not get a lot out of bolt-on mods (w/ tune) on a 392, at least not enough to void the warranty, in my opinion. If you want to add boost to the 392, get ready to open a big can of worms.

If I feel the need for big HP increase, I will trade in my SRT Durango on a used Trackhawk.

Pretty much.

The list is pretty much.

1. Only tune.
2. Cams
3. Supercharger(and pistons/rods)

#3 will set you back at least 10k.

Only worth boosting the Durango if you needed the extra seats.
