Harness Bar?

I have Corbeau seats and recently came across a really good deal on a harness bar and belts near me.

Does the harness bar make it nearly impossible for a kid to get in the back seat? For safety reasons would I even want a kid in the back with that bar in front of them? My daughter is still in a car seat for a couple of years, and she loves to go in the car. I can already tell I'd have to take the bar off to get a car seat back and forth.

Does the harness bar restrict how far back on the track the front seats can go? I have fixed-back seats, so no reclining.

Never had a harness bar, so I appreciate any helpful feedback.

Once you put some kind of bar in the back you can't have passengers in the back seat any more. If anything bad happens they'll end up really hurt. Your best bet would be to look for a removable bar. But I'm not sure if they make one for our cars.

Thanks for the reply. Never had one before but that’s kind of what I was thinking. Looks like I’ll pass on putting one in for now.

You can always put in a 6pt cage maximum Motorsports makes one with removable harness bar and and swing out doors. The removable harness bar makes it not track legal but i needed it as my kid loves to ride in the car.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to pass on the bar. It's a weekend car and I don't want to keep my young daughter from riding back there. Also for me, it wouldn't make sense to go as far as the cage right now, but that's a good option for the future.

Here is an option from Corbeau, it probably will not meet track regulation but should be good for Auto Cross and you dont have to remove rear seat. I think you will have access but with some difficulty into back seat. If people are belted in the back seat properly and you pad the bar there should be no worries.----Several different Vendors sell this.

That’s actually the one I was looking at. I could keep the seat and my daughter might be able to squeeze by but would it still be safe for a kid back there with the bar?

I don't mean to come off like a jerk, but how much do you love your kids? If it were me, I wouldn't. Frontal collisions are violent. I don't care how much you pad the bar, would the little ones not get hirt?

Yeah, after looking at multiple options there’s not a bar setup that I would feel OK about having my kid back there with. Thanks for the suggestions.
