Circa 2003, I built a 302 from the ground up and added a few MM goodies.

Some other pics I took over the weekend.

That color and the wheel figment are ON POINT. Well done, sir!

Pulled mine out after sitting for a good year collecting dust. I've had it for 20 years now. Not sure what I want to do with it going forward. I've been thinking Coyote with 6r80 but not sure I want to go that far. Here's a few from last weekend.

I vote for a ‘yote and widened 10 holes!

Love that color combo on an aeronose!

One pic for you Gimmie11s. View attachment 1603320

Boy, do I have a soft spot for those... Would love to have one one of these days!

The exhaust system consists of:

- FRPP ceramic shorties
- Bassani stainless X-pipe
- Pypes stainless tubes from X-pipe to muffler
- Walker Dynomax stainless mufflers
- Walker Dynomax tailpipes with stainless tips

Walker doesn't sell the entire catback system like they used to. Thankfully, most all of the individual pieces can still be purchased though. The tailpipes are a near perfect match for the OEM tailpipes and so they fit the chassis/MM bar perfectly (2.5" diameter).

While we are talking exhaust, I originally had a BBK off road pipe in place for years. H-pipe design, sounded great. Problem that drove me nuts was that it corroded pretty heavily even having never seen rain or snow.

This time around I wanted all stainless and I couldn't find an H-pipe I liked so I used a Bassani stainless X-pipe. I'm well aware that conventional wisdom says the sound wouldn't be the same but to my ear it sounds as deep and badass as it did before. Nice thing about the Bassani piece is it comes in sections. I did a 1" setback with the engine along with using MM's torque arm and clearance at the nose of the arm is critical. It was simple to shorten the assembly by trimming off one inch where the Bassani system clamps together to allow perfect fitment at the torque arm crossmember. Quality is the best I've ever seen to and really puts the BBK hardware to shame.

I’ll never buy anything else BBK. The fox fitment isn’t terrible but my xpipe isn’t rusted but I get what you’re saying about finish. When I had an 01 Cobra I fought leaks with a BBK X it sounded crappy on the mod motors. The TB was also like it had a hanging issue when getting on it and letting out of it.

I had good luck with their throttle bodies over the years. The quality and construction is pretty good. But the hanging...that's part of the reason I dumped the fuel injection system and went full carburetor caveman. No more having to buy different mass air meters, cleaning IAC motors, bucking, having to burn custom tunes, blah, blah. Fuel economy isn't as good but I could give a damn. I can set the idle wherever I want, throttle return never hangs, and adjustments are quick and simple. Anybody needs anything (302 OHV not OHC) I have intake manifolds, throttle bodies, mass air meters, harnesses, etc, and I'll never use any of it again.

They certainly do! Looks like you found a nice one! I'm glad I got back into one. I really didn't expect to get back into a foxbody this soon.

I’ve loved these cars ever since I was a young man. I got my first when I was 18 (an 88 GT). I loved that car but ragged it out pretty good, including putting two different motors in it. I sold it at 21 due to needing reliable transportation when I got a real job, but always missed it. So when I bought my 93 Cobra the same feeling kind of came back as when I was a kid. Several years later it is still my favorite of all the mustangs I’ve owned. I think it’s something only true Fox people can understand.

Awesome! I bought my first one in 1998 I believe I was 18. It was a 91GT. I had it for 10 years.

The red was my buddies 92.

My first fox was an 86' 5.0 coupe that I drove to high school in 1989. I've had many foxes over the years, probably 20 or so, but this 86' Saleen I just bought really takes me back to the good ole days lol.
