I am thinking about replacing my '01 SS daily driver with a '10-'12 GT500. I will probably have to find something higher mileage, stock or close to stock, to be in my budget. I'm wondering what you guys think an average price would be for a GT500 like this?

I would prefer to buy from an individual and not a dealership but 90% of what I see online are at dealerships. If anyone has one or knows of one for sale that sounds like what I'm looking for let me know please. I would prefer exterior white but would consider other colors as well.

I might go look at one after work. It's somewhat higher miles. Anything in particular I should look for indicating a major problems with the engine?

Nope not gonna happen at that price range. Your better off getting a 13-17 mustang 5.0

Below are five '10-'12 GT500s in my price range

Those are all from dealers so I'm thinking with patience I can find one lower miles or better price.

I had thought about getting a 13-17 GT and installing a supercharger.

In that price range for a GT500 you are going to get something older and/or something with miles.

If you put a blower on a 5.0 you will make power, but not the torque. Comparing a blown GT and a GT500 is fine until you talk drivetrain and potential. You wanna make power and torque, have better brakes and transmission right out of the gate; get a GT500. You start with so much more and a car that responds to mods so much better going with a GT500.

I know and am fine with something higher miles. I like the looks of the '10-'12 better than the '07-'09 but might consider one of those if I see one that is too good to pass up.

Why would a 5.0 not make torque? I do know the drivetrain is stronger on the Shelbys. Are the Brembo brakes on the GT the same as on the Shelbys? I agree you start with more and a car with more potential but the Shelbys are also quite a bit more expensive. The good thing about that though is the Shelbys seem to be holding their value a lot better than the GTs.

low to mid 20s

I have an ‘11 but only 15000 miles with NAV, SVTPP and Glass roof and about all the mods most would do unless they are going E85 (13/14 TVS and all other typical mods) but my low would be $32, so out of your range. Saw you were only about 500 miles away, which isn’t bad and figured I’d ask.

I think I may have seen your ad, is your car red? Sounds like a sweet car and yeah unfortunately is out of my current price range.

The 5.0 will not make the torque the 5.4 will, period. Again, they will make high power, but the torque is lacking in comparison.

Research.

Brembos are an upgrade on a GT correct? Standard equipment on a GT500.

True, the 5.4 is a bigger engine and will make more torque but I could live with a little less torque.

Correct and I do know they are an option on the GT and what I would be looking for on a GT, I was asking if they are the same on the GT as the GT500.

Any 10-12 GT500 you find in your budget is either completely ragged out, or has a salvage title. You would be lucky to find a nice 07-09 GT500 in that price range.

I would sell my black gt500 for 26k with around 75k miles. It was repaired with OEM parts. I have before and after pics. Only willing to sell now, because there is a Raptor available I have my eye on.

This 95,000 mile GT500 raises ????s after flipping thru the pics:

Has the performance pack option [3.73 gear] but is MISSING the performance red stripes and OE multi-spoke 19/20 performance wheels.
The seats would have been all-black leather; not black with red stripes.

Appears the tune-pack is unknown or is available due to the pulley, TB & intake changes.

Looks like the windshield has been replaced at some point- Around the rear view mirror there's a pixel-dot covering in that area on the OE windshield....
Is it low on radiator fluid too?
Is the Gurney-flap missing? Hard to tell in the pic... Makes me wonder about rear wing being replaced at some point or else...

The shifter knob: MIA.... or a theft-deterrent from the dealer???

ALSO, the OE front BREMBO calipers are missing!

Thats what the OP wants. It fits his budget. Perfect car for him.

The one in Texas has no pics posted or at least on my screen...

So can't determine the condition without a visual...

To me, the Maryland one is the most "intact" and appears original except for the tacky holes in the front bumper for a plate.

Has the OE 19/20 performance pack wheels, OE front Recaro's and its OE Brembo calipers... Plus was a no-stripe option [all-black leather]

...........................................................................................................................

If it were me, I would have to make an ON-SITE visit to the Maryland Ford dealer to inspect their GT500 with those miles to be sure everything is okay and not just judge by pics only....

4rd Toys, thanks for looking this over and the others below. I really liked this car when I saw the ad but I didn't have that great of a feeling about it after looking at the pics and carfax history but I thought I would check it out in person since it is local to me. The first thing I noticed in the pics before visiting was the SVT wheels were missing and had Mustang wheels on it. When I got there I also noticed the Brembos were gone. It had a repo order on the carfax so I wonder if someone knew it was getting repo'd and traded/sold the Brembos and wheels to someone with a Musang GT? I wasn't sure if it was supposed to have red stripes or not but assumed it did since the seats had stripes.

I also saw the pulley, TB and air intake had been changed which also had me question what the tune was in it.

I saw the windshield had been replaced. The paint was chipped on both A-pillars where the fenders are close to it. I didn't notice or look at radiator fluid but it very well could have been low.

It did have a shift knob on it when I went to see it but it wasn't clocked right; maybe just a lazy/quick install?

Unfortunately this car has just been around the block too much, especially for their price so I passed on it.
