If you shove someone in Florida, you might end up dead. Might want to think about your wife and kids before parking in a handicap when your not handicapped.

I have had two shoot/not shoot moments in my life, both ended with me not shooting and me in court once (found not guilty).
Point 1. I carry daily.
Point 2: I carry responsibly and go out of my way to avoid confrontation. I never ever start anything with anyone, period. I have mellowed in my old age.
Point 3: Burden for using deadly force varies from individual to individual. For example, a man shoves me and I shoot him, my 6'2 335 self is going to prison. Now if a petite female gets attacked by the same man, the burden of self defense is much lower. I had the Force Continuum drilled into my head both in school and in training, though it was out the window when I worked at the prison.
Point 4: I will defend my wife and family, no matter what. The last time I had to was October 2017 when a road rage filled idiot rammed my car multiple times then charged me as I got out of my car. One punch to his jaw with me wedged in between my car and the door stopped the attack and made him flee. I still did not pull my weapon but chased him up the exit ramp and into oncoming traffic which ended the threat.
Point 5: This man was not some innocent old man, he regularly threatened to shoot people over similar incidents and had multiple witnesses come forward showing that this was a pattern with him. He was waiting for the opportunity to kill someone. He 100% got what he deserved.

Scott, thanks for sharing your story and I’m glad you came out unharmed. I’m going to Monday morning quarter back it and ask if you’d do the same thing after seeing Drejka being violently attacked and found guilty. I obviously wasn’t there and don’t know all of the details. Was staying there a good choice? Could you have driven off and call police when the guy got out of his car to approach you? If not, was getting out of your vehicle a good choice? After you struck the guy and he fled, should you have chased him? Wasn’t the threat over? If you caught the guy that was fleeing and you had a physical encounter that turned into you having to shoot him, wouldn’t you be in a worse situation than Drejka? The jury would hear that you already had another shoot/ don’t shoot situation.

So all that talk about sticks and stones was bull. In Florida apparently you can go hands on if someone is yelling or cussing someone out?

If you continue to assault him and he is in fear of his life, yes.
Stand-your-ground law - Wikipedia

If you stop the assault and start walking away, no.

.

Dis you watch the same video? He came out of the store when he heard someone was harrassing his gf and shoved the guy to the ground, then backed off, then was shot.
On top of all that, the shooter is known to be asshole.
Where in the video was he continuing to assault him?

He's not defending him.

This clown and Zimmerman did more damage to stand your ground law, than any anti gun campaign could of, they was made for each other.

Still like to know why the store owner didn't press charges and told Drejka not to come back or face trespassing charges, after the 3rd or 4th incident with customers, all because he wanted to play parking lot enforcer at their store.

I’ve never thought to kill over an altercation I bring on myself. If I start shit with a dudes girl, I don’t kill him for getting defensive at me ****ing with his girl.

Ive called at a girl or guy in front of their spouse and broken teeth quickly there after. Broke a guys face into a stein when his girl tried to steal my credit card. I bitched her out, 5 seconds later I get sucker punched, so I grab a stein, slam, ... would still not have drawn a gun. (I don’t carry in a bar/drinking regardless)

So.….
This dumb guy parks in a handicap spot, and walks into a store.
This other dumb guy starts yelling at an occupant of the first dumb guy's car for parking in said handicap spot.
First dumb guy storms out and over reacts (or potentially under reacts) by pushing second dumb guy to ground.
(First dumb guy does not consider exactly how dumb someone can be.)
Second dumb guy will not be out done by the first dumb guy way over reacts and decides to shoot the first dumb guy.

IDK, but none of this seems to be about the stand your ground law. More like two idiots met.
If the first moron respects the handicap spot for it's indented purpose (and BTW his kid would have learned to respect it), he never meets the second moron. Or, if the first dumb-dumb comes out and simply asks what is going on to give time to assess the situation, tries to defuse the issue, he never gets shot by the other dumb-dumb.

In the course of your life, you will interact with dumb-dumbs. Step aside, let them pass.
