Are the vinyl stripes a wear item?

Hi,
I was wondering, are the vinyl stripes a wear item? How are they holding up to washings, the sun, road grime/debris, inclement weather, etc. Do they have to be replaced periodically?

A wear item would be brakes or wiper blades.
My car is in a garage when not in use, 6 years old last month, stripes look fine.
They get washed & waxed just like the rest of the car. They can be nicked just like paint, & very expensive to replace with OEM stripes..

My 2013 is black w/ blk “ghost” or matt finish stripes. I am super finicky about my own detailing. Mine is also a daily driver and the stripes look good as new.

My car was daily driven by the guy who took delivery (a friend of my stepdad). He drove it rain or shine, parked outside in SFL. I’ve done the same and I’m at 67,xxx miles not and my matte stripes are nicked up and have some wear but they look fine to me.
I mean I have dings and dents as well but I got the car for a great price and the only mechanic that’s ever touched it is my step father (ford mechanic- works on the Shelby’s and GT cars).

Stripes look fine here but car only has 6k miles

you can always replace with new ones if needed (I did the lower panel stripes and it was like $80)

Great, thanks everyone. I've been doing my reasearch on the Trinity cars and I was wondering if the stripes was something that I had to worry about replacing every couple of years or so.

I think wrap places can cut you stripes anyway so it’s much cheaper then ford

I've already replaced one of my stripes on my hood because of a rock chip. The OEM stripes are stupid expensive.

Yes, I have replaced mine already. I don't have a garage per se but I have a carport and I drove it a lot going to work when I worked day-shift, also I think the car probably sat on the dealer outside for some time before I bought it (second owner) . They looked like dried dirt in the desert lol. It cost me $800.00 to replace but I will not recommend the person who did it.
