Ordered an RX 570 so I have a gaming card to use while my 1080Ti is out. Does anyone have one? I got this one but it was on sale for $130

I'll be rebuilding mine soon. Switching out my 6700k for Ryzen Gen 3 3900x. Intel is about to get TOASTED based on the internal benchmarks. I will wait until release and actual benchmarks are run, but Intel is in trouble. A 12 core / 24 thread CPU for $499 that beats Intel's HEDT (9920x) offering for $1200? Ya, they're in trouble. Everyone on the AMD side is having a riot now. I've been running Intel for the past 10 years and this is the first time I'll be going team red. My applications are very IPC heavy so every little bit counts, and $$$ for $$$ AMD is about to take the crown.

Yep, they are quite ****ed. Zen 3 is going to be an even bigger problem for them. We will see what Jim Keller can do to help them out in the next few years.

Cool looking build. Check on GPU temps often. From the picture it looks like the GPU is very close to the window. :D

Just "finished" my first build in a very long time. It's not so much a build as a collection of parts, a cheap Cyberpower PC I bought, and then me dismantling it multiple times and changing it.

CBP.jpg

Started out:
CB PC RZR Case
Asrock B450M AC MB
Ryzen 5 2600 3.4ghz
Ballistix Sport LT 8gb 3000mhz
240gb SSD
2TB 7200 RPM HD
Two 120mm off brand case fans (junk)
600w EVGA Gold PS
MSI RX580 4GB
Windows 10 64 Bit

The stock case fans were basically made of styrofoam. Out of the box it performed pretty well though

So I added another stick of 8gb Ballistix, and a PCcooler 3 fan setup for the case (total of 5). Going to replace the other stock 2 fans with matching PCcooler since they work much better. Then I worked with ASrock's software and optimized the fan controls, setup XMP Ram profiles (made a huge difference), and am tinkering with overclocking.

Will need a better CPU cooler (probably go corsair water) before I push it. Good news is I can jump to the new Ryzen 3 with this board. Overall, as is, I am impressed with the performance. Plays rust without even touching 50c+

Definitely impressive

I'm debating when to upgrade my 4790k and 1080 rig.

It games very well with my 2.5k monitor. But I know if I go 4k, I'd need a full upgrade.

But if it's running smooth, the adult decision is to keep it as is and wait for the next Gen hardware to come out. Maybe i9-10900k and 3080 RTX

I debated a lot when I considered building a new rig for editing / bigger tasks which was an 4790k/1060 6gb. Only time i regretted was seeing when I realized I have almost 8k worth of GPU's alone and both 1080ti's are waterforces new, $1900 a pop the rtx 2080 ti's about $1500 each. I gave a friend of mine that really needed a new PC because his laptop shit out and he has a new kid so I ended up gifting him my old stuff. Still makes me sad that I gave the 4790 away because it was an awesome reliable processor, but dd3r is the dinosaurs of pc's now.

I did the unspeakable after deciding I needed another gaming desktop and selling my gaming laptop setup; I bought a CyberPowerPC pre-built from Best Buy. It came with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and RTX 2070 Super for just $1,100 on a Cyber Monday sale. I had until 1/14 to return it if need be, but thankfully didn't want or have to. Yanked out the 2070 Super and replaced it with an RTX 2080 Ti and couldn't be happier. Still a cheaper setup than what I could have built it for myself.

Monitor is a Dell 144Hz, 1ms, 1440p G-Sync unit.

Dang! Nice. I actually like my CBPC for the money.

You want to let go of the RTX 2070? Still a better card than my 570

Been restless the last couple of days, doing hours and hours of research. Pulled the trigger on a 3950x and 64gb ram. New case now and not worry about moving rig later, Corsair 280x vs Corsair air 240. 240 vs 280 AIO coolers. 120mm fans, 140mm fans, slim fans, 1tb nvme, 2tb nvme. LOL. This might be harder to decide than a car.

I'm upgrading from a 2600k, 16gb ram, sata III ssd, win 7 setup. cant wait to get into a win 10 rig.

stay away from the EVGA AIO (questionable long term reliability based on gamersnexus on youtube showing break down of fluid). Get the 2TB NVMe. You might not need it but I doubt you'll regret it. Case is really about taste, but get something with good wire management and with options for a lot of fans. I got a maingear Vybe recently and am very happy with it:

I'm limited on matx cases. Dont want a huge tower, although the matx cases are just shorter towers... LOL
2tb nvme gaming drive is what im aiming for, 1tb nvme OS drive.
