I was thinking like Dave. Reminds me of how a salvage yard marks their items when they sell them in case of a return.

Hi thanks Tom, yeah I get that maybe for the Stone Mountain lettering on the bumper cover. The rocker and sail panel dates 3-29-93, 3-25-93 crossed out changed to 3-27-93, 2-10-93 changed to 4-2-93 all predate my cars build date of 4-27-93. I assume these are all factory.

Is there any chance Creative Industries tore the cars down? Could have been a quality control issue maybe, a lot of parts thou.

My first owner was in Danville VA and second in Charlotte, NC....

Those markings are definitely not factory.

Since you’re the third owner it very well could be salvage parts.

Was the car ever in an accident or stolen ?

Thanks,

Back cover could be replaced at some time maybe. Nothing in the back to show and damage thou, but it was raced by original owner who lived right near Virginia International Speedway.

The sails and rocker have dates before the car was built is why it is so strange...

All parts should pre-date your build date to be considered original. Most allow within 3 months of build date. Earlier than that is questionable because that is getting outside of the production window and parts being made.

Your car is well into the production run so I can't imagine why Creative Industries would have been interested in your vehicle.

Unfortunately, I would have to assume those are all from a salvage yard. Why--who knows. If the car wasn't wrecked, maybe it was vandalized in a parking lot?

VIR = could have had a little off road excursion, needed a few parts replaced ??

I’m thinking more cosmetic than structural, rocker panels and rear bumper cover. Could have been damaged without any metal body panels being affected.

Hi Tom, thanks. I never knew about parts window time frame. The ones I have are all with in a month. I have no idea how long these cars sat.

Creative Industries fitted for Ford the convertible parts. The car has special floor pans. It has extra wide rocker sills and special underbody reinforcement plates. It has convertible pinch weld reinforcements welded in instead of pop-riveted in like the convertible. It also has various structural reinforcements and gussets that were fitted to support the cowl and dashboard. The X-bar brace. Unconfirmed A-Pillar brace.

How I ended up on that other Facebook conversation as I always assumed the lawsuit cars did not have any of this. I was corrected that the 107 do have all the convertible parts.

Another guy mentioned they also had different seat tracks like a convertible. I heard from another that is also not the case as they would have needed new crash tests.

Yeah good point. Even with the negative camber on these cars I could scrape the front. I only did Solo 2, drag and street race. Played in the box with the Corvette Club, The BMW guys were nuts they like to trade paint, not for me...
