I had a wotbox, now I just hard launch and slip. Either way 1.5 60fts can be done.

I’ve seen 1.38 manual irs and sc I believe.

Irs loves a quick slip, but not a shock. Sra can handle a shock launch.

Turbo stick cars need a bit of boost on launch if you have tall gears.

I have a 3.73 rear but spin to 8k so I have an easier time launching even with a laggier setup than almost everyone. 4K rpm on drag radials is a sweet spot for me. 4500-5k on slicks.

When I go stand alone, I’ll mess around with launch control style setups again. My wotbox kept ****ing up so I said to hell with it.

Just seen your reply but nice info man. I too have 3:73 gears in the rear. I just was reading about turbo cars actually liking more of a 3:27 gear but my closet track is only a 1/8th mile so thats what my car will be set up for. I hope the 3:73 will be ok but after reading about 3:27 gears it makes me wonder. I guess time will time but again I hope the 3:73 will be alright for the short track.

3.27 is great on a stock cam car or one revving out to about 6500-7000rpm.

My combo revs put to 7500-8000 and is very laggy for the street (62’s on a stage 3 cam/head) so I need to spin it, and have more torque multiplication down low.

I think the 3.27 is great on a stock style c head/stage 1 cam.

So the 3:27s are sounding better all the time. I wont turn my car but to 7000

So looks like I will be doing a built shortblock with 10.5 c/r and aluminum rods, je pistons. The heads have a light port with 1+mm on the valve. So my question at this point tt335 what cams would you suggest

I have a whole new build I am doing this winter so thinking of keeping the 3.73 now. 4.6 fully built. .20 over aluminum rods, je pistons trying for 10.5 c/r. Stage 3 cams, mega squirt stand alone. Maybe some meth injections since I will be stand alone.... I too like yourself will spin 7.5 to 8k...

If you’re spinning to 7500-8000, an aggressive stage 2 cam leaning almost to stage 3 is going to be running well. A stage 3 will make power for an extra 500-750rpm.

Vs stages, the real way to think of it is to custom spec the cam to the build. A great cam builder will take the numbers from you and put it to paper and pencil. They’ll find lobe separation, duration, etc by doing the calculations.

I’d call up a nice cam builder and order custom. I went with custom specced stage 3 grinds from mmr. It was about $1600 in 2015.

Ive heard good things about todd. I will have to decide who I want to build my cams. I also need to get a sullivan set up of some sort to handle the rpm. Or should I just work my 01 cobra intake?

running MHS stage 4 cams with modded 01 intake. 8200 sp. works well.

basically you hack it apart / destroy. Then port, cut, and weld/ build up the crap out of the runners. Actually quite a bit of work involved.
But what you do depends on setup. Most just do mild port work cause they're not pulling anything above 7k.

Old Thread to show basic details.

I am thinking about letting na svt do the work for me. I dont have all the tools to do this type of work.
