Finally a police officer was punished. Look I get and respect police officers they have a hard job but not all are good apples. Some think they'll above it and rarely get punished for they're crime's cause they so many other times. Let me tell you a story and this just happened yesterday. I was driving home from work yesterday and was talking to one of friends on my bluetooth in my truck. I had my palm against my face leaning a little cause I was tired. When a police officer passed me going the other direction and I clearly saw her on her phone talking. Then I see her turn on her lights and make a u turn. I thought she got a emergency call but nope she was pulling me over. When she came to my window I asked why I got pulled over she said for being on my phone since we have a hands free law. I laughed and said yeah right I told her I'll show you I wasn't and pointed to my dashcam. I told her it's a two view camera and it'll show what I was doing at the time and I also said it'll show when you passed me you we're on your phone too. She gave me this crazy look and just walked to her crusier turned off her lights and left. Moral of the story is cops are human too and just like humans we tend to lie and abuse power.

I personally would have not stopped you. Unless I am certain someone is breaking the law and I can see it and can accurately testify on it, I don’t make a stop. I don’t like to assume when it comes to making a decision that may negatively effect someone’s life potentially forever.

Also, what a lot of people don’t realize is, police officers while on duty, are legally allowed to be on their phones, not wear their seatbelts, etc. as long as it’s done within the course of their duties. Now each department has their own policy on that, so that’s another story, but if we are talking about the laws, officers on duty can do pretty much everything a civilian can’t. The key is, as long is they are within the course of their duties.

I hate being that guy, but if the shoe had been on the other foot. He would have gotten the death penalty

Care to show us an evidence that would infact be the case? Or on what grounds did you make such statement?

I have seen cops screw up get worse sentencing than the average Joe under the same circumstances because cops are held a higher standards therefore their punishments are harsher as well. I personally know a cop who crashed and paralyzed a driver while driving drunk and received 8 years in prison. An unheard of sentencing.. but the judge wanted to make an example of him and heck I agree with that. He made us all look bad.

Im pro cop, but if he had walked into her apartment and shot her dead then it would be he killed a cop. You kill a cop in Texas and its a capital crime and we execute for capital crimes. Just sayin’

It has no bearing on her guilt or her punishment, but this case made me recall a day where I got off work and literally got inside a co worker’s vehicle in the parking lot that was similar, but still different enough that I shouldn’t have gotten in. He had a beige suburban, I had a beige Tahoe. We had different rims, etc. I got in (same color interior) and was wondering for several seconds why the hell my key wasn’t working in the ignition. I wondered “why the hell does it stink in here”? I also wondered why I wasn’t in my usual spot. I was tired and my mind was elsewhere. I was on autopilot. It can happen. That said, I don’t disagree that she’s incompetent, not aware enough to wear that badge, and guilty of her crime.

My wife and I did that once. We were leaving my daughters volleyball practice and walking to the car. I saw the lights flash on a white Explorer and I thought my wife had her keys on her and unlocked the car. I was on my way down into the seat when it hit me that something was wrong. My wife was putting on her seatbelt before she noticed and my daughter opened the door and immediately shut it. Luckily my wife knew the owner and they laughed about it when she told her, but it could have easily been a stranger and not gone over so well.

"Texas Ranger David Armstrong said Wednesday that he doesn’t believe Guyger committed any crime, including murder, manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide.

“I believe that she did perceive him as a deadly threat,” Armstrong said. “I don’t believe it was reckless or criminally negligent based on the totality of the investigation.”

Really?

Wow. Amazing guy. A Christian who walks the walk. Good on him.

Thanks for posting.
Judge Kemp hugged her as well.

"Following Wednesday's sentencing, Judge Tammy Kemp comforted Jean's family, then briefly spoke with Guyger and left the room. The judge soon returned with a Bible, WFAA-TV of Dallas reported. “You just need a tiny mustard seed of faith. You start with this,” she said, giving the Bible to Guyger. Kemp and Guyger then embraced. The hug came after the brother of murder victim Botham Jean made a similar gesture toward Guyger. “You haven’t done so much that you can’t be forgiven,” the judge told Guyger, according to WFAA. “You did something bad in one moment in time. What you do now matters."

Some on social media decried both the sentencing and Kemp’s embrace of Guyger."

I commend both the family and Judge Kemp for showing compassion and the love of Christ to Guyger. Sad case all around.

"We all know that people are the same whereever you go
There is good and bad in ev'ryone
We learn to live, when we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive, together alive"

The lyrics are true but what the woman police officer did is indefensible and as a realist, I find it alarming, offensive and purely b.s. how a sgt with the Rangers would defend the incapable female. My god he must be a special kind of stupid, retarded or maybe just ignorant because I don't really know.
