I can pretty well tell you that your member friend that tracks his ZL1 and does strip duty in the car is not optimizing his dragstrip time when the car is geared towards RC handling, and you need to check Chevy's site that offers the smaller rear brake kit to use 16" wheels not 15".

1 more thing you should check instead guy is my profile as I currently own 2 cars that are way above yours in the pecking order of things with 1 arriving that surpasses (T$) your ride and my 2.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous this sounds. What the **** is a pecking order?

Any fool can finance any car.

Delusional meathead of peace.

Since my last response got deleted I will PG rate it

Sure whatever you say buddy there is a “pecking order”. That explains why the Demon is the car to beat right now. Secondly nobody said a stock Zl1 was drag strip optimized, but it sure as hell throws the heat down. Third the kits that Im used to allow 15 inch wheels. I was not aware the 6th gen was any different.

As stated earlier: the ZL1 is on the streets and if GM turns the wick up then GT500 owners will be getting schooled on the streets.

Competition is great and I want them all including the GT500.

He’s been to too many Cars and Coffees lol

I dunno, from what I have seen, pecking order at C&C is
1. 1960s Citroen/Morgan/Land Rover or similarly obscure piece of shit
2. Any air cooled Porsche
3. E36 M3

.
87. American

Before Tob comes in here and bans me for my derailment lol. I think a Demon will wreck a stock GT500, but the likelihood of both being on a track at the same time is probably not going to happen.

I don't go to C&C. I have my cars to drive not sit in a parking lot for people to stare.

Mentioning financing is hilarious. I'm selling 2 cars to go down to 1 nasty ride and can easily do that without the bank needing to toss out coin for me to buy a ZR1. If that isn't your situation not my problem which is why someone has to mention it to make them feel better.

I mentioned the model of ZL1 that was being discussed and someone has to put it out there that I should check his profile because he's driving a SS, I had a 4th gen Formula so I've owned F-bodies before ages ago I move forward in car ownership not backwards.

You're wrong. There is a member here that has a Demon and is getting a 500 and he's put it out there that he's running both down the strip to see what they do. So stay tune for that and ALL this BS speculation will be answered.

A stock Demon has drag radials (street friendly NT05Rs). I really would like to see the GT500 on an equivalent street DR and the Demon stock (without crate parts). I think that’ll a drivers race but I’m not for fighting over stock vs modded. At the end of the day, if the DCT holds and a guy is willing to mod, the 500 has a killer package for modding potential.
But I’d still like to see them both stock on the same tire. In mindshaft late fall DA :)

Im truly curious to see what it puts down. This car is a long time coming and it will interesting to see how the cards fall.

Coming from a Houston guy I expected more. They usually leave quite a bit of leeway in the Corvette/Camaro engines. Go look at the front of a ZL1 and it is nothing but space in the front with 10 coolers.

Heat is the enemy on a road course and it is very, very difficult to manage 750+ hp worth of heat, let alone for 20+ minutes. I've been doing this a long time and have seen very few examples if it done well.
The problem usually is water is something like 6x better at absorbing heat than air; but by that same note that means it's that much harder to reject heat from liquid back to the air (in the form of a heat exchanger), so you need a LOT of fluid capacity and a LOT of surface area because once your fluid heat soaks you're basically done.

I'm not even being a fanboy here and saying the shelby can do it and the ZL1 can't, 750+ supercharged horsepower is the stupidest thing to try to take to a track day, but manufacturers stopped trying to sell to enthusiasts a long time ago and instead started selling towards magazines and bench racers... I'll hop off my soap box now.
