For sake of argument let's assume we're back at zero. The bed has yet to hath been shat upon.

Keep the thread clean and stick to the tech and I can leave the hammer alone. I'm not kidding, don't make me your enemy.
Thank You! For a second I was missing Kaneda, this thread went over board.

I'd love to own either car as they are both fantastic cars to enjoy but for the mean time I have to keep my slow '13 for a while longer. Make no mistake though an Orange GT500 is on the horizon.

As TOB has stated everyone needs to keep the thread clean and the personal insults out of it. If you have an issue take it to SD. Thank you for everyone's cooperation.

I’d drive a demon to the track.
I wouldn’t daily it but I’d drive it. I’d daily a red eye.
My scatpack is the best daily I ever had.

I’m in the market for a newer scatpack widebody used or an older hellcat Charger.

Did you do bolt ons to the scatpack like headers/tune? I think I’m leaning towards a scatpack because I can just buy a car whipple used down the road.

You have a wide body scatpack or a normal one?

If you are thinking of modding do not waste your time with the 6.4. They are fine stock but do not handle boost well and bolt ons are expensive and do not really do much. H/C/TB will only get you 50 hp and will cost 3k plus install. Save it and put it torward a HC.

Bolt some drag radials on the back and GT500s will be seeing tailights.

It traps 126-128 tops. I disagree. The a10 isn’t shifting fast either (.2/shift) and needs 5 shifts. It will need slicks or a 2nd gear launch with the 10a to even hook. It’s a 6500rpm engine making a lot of torque. Might have a 1.45 60ft on slicks but the whole recipe is wrong for drag racing.

As stangmode has shown, the 10a hits very hard but spins 1st if he’s not careful on sticky drag radials in a 430wtq 4700rpm 3900lbs car with 3.73’s shifting at ~8000.

Now take a 550wtq (off idle basically) 3800lbs car with a 3.55 rear, shifting at 6500.

You’d need 12” rear brakes, 16x28x12.50” slick to hook 550wtq in such a short 1st gear. It’s like 35-40mph.

I just died inside a bit but nonetheless thanks for the heads up

Thanks for catching this. Just check the HC insurance rates. Mines available 2/28 off lease :)

Well if we’re talking Stangmode, I’d counter with that1320chick. Her Whipple 10R does all good for a pretty stock car with a blower.
I’m hoping we’re damn close to seeing production 500s in mineshaft air and drag radials!

Ok..bolt on some slicks and skinnies and you will bust GT500 ass. I dont know what Stangmode is, but I do know that when it comes out the GT500 is going to get those cheeks clapped by ZL1 and C8 guys.

I agree. The coyote is a great drag racing engine because it doesn’t blow the tires up with too much torque, and pulls well to 8000rpm. Great power spread, very easy to put it all down.

Stangmode is a guys YouTube channel that is centered around a bolt on e85 2018+ mustang gt 10a running 1.59-1.65 60fts and 10.8-11.2 1/4 at 123-126 currently, and getting faster as the fall weather rolls in.

Great example of how the 10a is an awesome helper for the NA coyote chassis 2018+ even at 3800lbs.

YouTube

He’s getting a gt500 and plans to go bolt on drag car with it.

The zl1 has too much torque for the 10a. It will struggle to put power down.

Which ZL1 are you guys discussing? The ZL1's and Camaro SS are geared more towards road course handling than drag racing.

If we are talking ZL1 1LE that's strictly a corner carving car so drag racing is not going to be its forte.

It's like a Boss 302 and GT350/R they are not drag racing cars they wail around corners that's what they are good at doing.

Tony

For the new GT500 doing drag duty, first you need a wheel that will fit over those huge rear rotors and calipers and wide enough to fit some decent meats. The meats also need to have a decent sidewall to plant that traction but it can't be too tall of a sidewall otherwise the overall tire height will be too tall and kill your gearing.
