I have decided it's time for a newer generation mustang, I currently have a '07 GT with a VMP Gen2R. The GT350 I'm looking at has 10,000 miles on it, so if it has an oil issue, it has not shown up on the CarFax, just two reported regular oil changes. Besides oil, are there any other common red flag issues I should be looking for?

Also those who have the Lund E85 tune, does that help the torque below 3500 rpm? And would it void the warranty?

Tune will void the warranty if it can be proven that it caused a failure, ie motor failure they will say the tune caused it. If you plan to tune you have to he prepared to pay to replace or rebuild the motor if something happens. I only plan to modify mine once I'm certain the motor is solid.

I loved that flex fuel tune (it does feel stronger down low) and i also had a motor replaced due to consumption and not a word said about it. I even took my car in with the nGauge mounted a couple different times.

There was another guy who tuned his, dealer knew, he took it out because his lap times did not improve, and his motor went wayyyy down the road and they denied the shit out of it.

I guess my point is, you are rolling the dice (but it sure is fun). Definitely take up the offer on the OASIS report.

the only real issue is oil. and it seems one in every 50 or so has a consumption problem, and by 10k miles would see it in my opinion, either way I would still want a warranty to be safe. as far as low end tq, once you are used to driving it that issue will go away as well. it takes a few weeks or a month to get used to the driving characteristics of it and once thats done you wont even think about it

Thanks all, cars oil was where it was supposed to be, and there are no reported issues. Barring no hiccups I'll have a grabber blue with white stripe variation tomorrow.

Looks clean. Back in February 2018 it had an oil leak, but they tracked it down to a cracked filter.

I got my loan today and my bank told me there was a recall. Said oil consumption. Is that a thing for 17 models or does that mean I need to take it in. That would blow if it does have oil consumption issues. Thanks again.

There shows as an open recall, but it's more or less just bring it in and get it checked. Doesn't mean this one has any issues.
