Negative, home account. It is a 1Gbps line though.

I was referring to all of the stupid things that pop up on the site regardless if the site is working properly or not

Can you proportion bandwidth across hardwired and wireless connections?

I stream a lot of sports but notice if I’m trying to surf on my laptop or use wifi on my phone, the streaming struggles.

Of course I’m out in the boonies and 25 mbps is all thats available for top speed. The 12 mbps pkg is what I currently subscribe to.

I can designate which devices use a certain band, so my laptop gets the strong signal. I have my grandkids on the 2.4 band, bedroom tv on a different 5. Hardwired direct has no effect.

I guess what I’m asking is there a way to only allocate certain download speeds to certain devices?

I'm currently on a 40/5 circuit and it barely get there sometimes. Last time I checked it was like 32/4.

The new house apparently has fiber running through the backyard. I'll be taking advantage of that. Believe it or not, my current internet is the fastest I've ever had. It seems to work just fine in most cases but I'm glad this router talk popped up. I need to take notes.

For any kind of range and good speed hard to beat a mesh network. Ubiquiti and Orbi are ones I prefer for residential. Erro is not bad however the nodes do not cover as far. A little more range then Google though.

I was just about to pull the trigger on a full on Ubiquiti set up. How do you like it and what kind of range do you get out of their unify line?

Also, the required pic: lol

We just got fiber out here in the boonies. A local electric coop decided to lay something like 40k miles of fiber this last year so we wouldn't have to deal with satellite internet anymore. Gigabit fiber for $85 a month.

$85 a month is cheap. I pay around $100 a month for my cable connected Internet. 165 up and 33 down. I've wanted to switch from cable to fibre for Internet for years, but unfortunately AT&T laid cable in our neighborhood 3 years ago and stopped one block short of the newer homes area that we're in. No plans to extend it. Sucks, but at least my Cox cable is sufficient for Internet.

I currently have the R9000 and I'm no where close to using it to its true potential or probably all the features it truly offers as I'm not a total techy to set it up but I wanted something I wouldn't have to replace for a really long time. My Xfinity is my limiting factory right now and man would I kill to have fios in my area.

You sound like me on the tech thing. I wish like hell we had another choice too, but it's Xfinity or nothing.

spectrum is the only one offering decent speeds around here, sucks. This thread reminds me I need to call and argue about my bill when I get home
