My EVAP is turned off on my tune. I think it’s still hooked up tho. I wanna just remove it all, canister and all. What exactly needs to be done?

i believe i remove this hose and cap the port on the blower shown here.

Where exactly is the EVAP canister?

And then do i remove all these plastic hoses?

So is the SKINNIER metal tubing the fuel feed line? I think I’m looking at this correctly. The bigger metal tubing looks like its part of the EVAP.

Stupid question time.
I haven’t followed much regarding the EVAP system.
What is the benefit of removing it and is there a point that it needs to be removed like if you convert to a return fuel system? Is there any harm or negative side effects to leaving it?
What about negative side effects of removing it?

Thanks
Ken

Yeah just trying to clean up the engine bay and just have an understanding of what all that crap is. I’m the King of stupid questions but that’s how you learn.

I see a boost looking line coming off that evap canister. Some point this week I’m gonna cap that and remove that evap tube from the back of the blower and cap the blower. I think THEN I’ll have removed the evap in the engine bay

Ken,

There is no negatives to leaving the OEM setup in place, even after going return. Only downside would be the clutter/weight of it and unsightlyness.

If you remove it you need to figure out how to vent the tank, some have used a Fox style vent/filler assembly, others just deal with the fumes etc.

This. There isn't any real downside effect to still have this in the car. But like mentioned here you will most certainly need to find a way to vent the tank so you can fill it willout having the fuel station pump slicking off non stop. And it you delete it you may have more fuel smell when it is parked in an enclosed place.

Thanks guys!
That helps a lot. I’ll probably leave it until I go return style. Then it only makes sense to get rid of it to simplify and clean things up like you mentioned. Anybody know what the weight of all of it is? I’ve seen the big brick looking thing behind the driver side rear tire. Is that part of it?

Thanks again
Ken

I still have mine in with my return setup still myself. The big brick thing is the evap charcoal canister. It's purpose is to absorb fuel vapors hence reducing odors as well. It really doesnt weigh all that much so it depends on how crazy you are trying to get with saving weight.

What boost line are you referencing exactly? Are you referencing the line connected to the blower intake elbow?? If so, that is pre-boost and will always have vacuum pulling on it. The idea is to have the engine burn the excess fuel vapor trapped in the canister.
