As far as I know, Morimoto makes good ballasts. Was curious to see if anyone else knows of a good brand to use. Thanks!

not sure but how cheap LED's are just roll the dice on a plug and playset

I tried a set of Morimoto 2 stroke LEDs and it’s bright, but visually not any better than halogens if that makes sense. Got a deal on some Morimoto HB bulbs so I may just buy the ballasts from them. Wanted to check to see if anyone knew of another good company to check out.

The one place I used in the past was D&M in Cali, I think that's it's named that but I never had an issue with their products

DDM Tuning here, have their ballasts in multiple cars and have no complaints.

Really? I’ve heard mixed things about them. Had a friend order some stuff that was supposed to be in stock but apparently is shipping from China lol.

Majority of their stuff does ship from China but they do have some locations in California. Quality wise I’ve only had two issues between 3 cars, one ballast failed which was under warranty and one high beam bulb (hardy ever used the high beams so that may have been why). My cobra ballasts and bulbs have been going for the past 5 years without any issues.

I’ll take a look at their ballasts and see what’s up. I mean he’s had no complaint other than that.

I've installed Morimoto HID bi-xenon [hi/lo-beam] in three of my rides & helped my neighbor install the same kit in their car too.

But I've used The Retro-Fit Source as my go-to online vendor.

The Retrofit Source | The Best HID & LED Projector Headlight Upgrades

Out all of the kits, I had only one issue [a couple years ago] with the capacitor/adapter module not the ballast itself, and got a new replacement in a few days from The Retro-Fit Source

So far LED wise, I'm only using their GT500 LED Foglamp assembly

But I'm trying Diode Dynamics for LED bulbs & their smoke LED S197 side lamp assemblies

DDM is the way to go. Even if you do have an issue they stand behind their warranty 100%.

I had installed HIDs & ballasts from them on my 1997 Cobra roughly 8 years ago. My brother currently owns the car, he had an issue with the ballast less then 6 months ago. Called DDM and was picking up a new ballast no questions asked the same day.

TRS is what most of the audi folks swear by as well

I didnt want to spend the coin on my Audi and got tired of the amazon cheapo ballasts dying on me; so I went back to halogen.

Will try the better hid kit on my Mustang someday.

One combination I’ve read that people do as well, is they use Morimoto bulbs with DDM ballasts.
