If all the testing is true, then it will be a reliable track car.

Engineers Verified 2020 Shelby GT500 Performance for Thousands of Miles

Hopefully everything they learned made it into the production cars.

The white car wasn’t the only development car, and in total, the group of test cars accumulated 6,700 track laps and 207 hours of duty while going through 288 sets of tires as of August 17, 2019. And more were in the offing just days after we saw the car.

Interesting that they installed a FR front tow hook when the car has a threaded tow hook provision on the passenger side of the front bumper - or it did anyway. I hope they didn't shitcan it...

Both are sick but the 500 will probably have an edge with HP and paddle shift.

You must have some impressive cooling mods
Not really......

Lethal HCM
A/C Delete
Tstat Delete
Bypass Delete
Evans Coolant for engine and innercooler
Whipple 2.3 gen 2 @ only 14psi (577/525)
Afco single pass heat exchanger
3G alternator
Kenny Brown brake ducts
IRS cooler w/ fan located in trunk (same as 00'R)
8qt canton road racing oil pan
Remote oil cooler w/ filter behind front bumper above driver fog light

I just ran 7 20 minute sessions at MSR houston in 95f heat without any issues. I am looking to further buffer (and mostly protect my motor/trans/irs) by installing the following mods:

Trackspec louvers
.040" aluminum boxing in of radiator to bumper
1" J2fab mod w/ all 1" lines, emp pump and gords heat exchanger
LFP innercooler (confirmed can still be modded for 1" lines)
Trans cooler by aluminum plate to scoop up fresh air
2qt improved racing oil cooler w/ all -12an lines

Understand that the current mods the car has done 40 minute sessions at mid ohio in 80-85f heat. I've brought the car to Texas and have done my first event with no issues but I am doing additional mods to handle the higher texas temp and to ensure I do not have any issues at all.

stoptech 13" 2 piece floating hawk blue pads front
MM wilwood 12.8" 2 piece floating hawk blue pads rear
Toyo RR or RA1, sometimes Federal 595RS-RR for a cheap street track tire and I also have a set of R888R on all four corners too. My uncle used Hoosier R7 exclusively when he was tracking it but they don't last as long as the toyo and they are more expensive but he claims it's the fastest tire.

Cool man, yea the Hoosiers will post the fastest lap for sure but always drop off. Its why I stay on R comps. Id rather see laps stay the same/ slightly improve as they wear rather than go down
