TB swap issues

Guys, I have swapped the TB before but this time I have 2 issues.

1. I broke the clip on the back the one closest to the cab. The red keeper is there but the black lock on the inside snapped. So, it slides on but isn't able to keep it's place.

2. To get the bottom left bolt started when I put the new FR 65MM TB on there is a fuel line that was in the way. Although I unlocked the green keeper no matter how much I tried to get it off it wouldn't budge. I guess I got to rough it snapped..So, I will also need this too.

I called my local ford dealership I didn't ask but about the gas lined stopped as he said "that is discontinued and nobody in the entire US shows them having one" Surely not?

Any help appreciated, 2007.

1. Probably going to have to order a new connector, cut the old one off and solder the new one in. Maybe if your lucky you can remove the lock from the new connector and swap it in but IDK. Use a strategically placed zip tie for now to stop the plug from backing out.

2. You need a fuel disconnect tool like one below, common at any auto parts store. They come in different sizes so make sure you get the right one or just buy a size run set and your covered.

Can you just order a new connector? He said it's sold as an entire line? I guess I could prey and dig out all of the snapped off connector and possibly fit another one back on the existing hose/line.

Anyone know of the ford part numbers to either of these? Fuel line/ connector, TB electronics connector.

You could use a couple of these and convert to AN fittings and braided fuel line. Put on one the fuel line quick connect under the master cylinder and the other on the fuel rail, cut your hose to length and install the hose fittings.

If Ford no longer makes the fuel line, your only shot is a junk yard. If it's specific to the GT500, I think you're going to have a hard time finding one. I'd put a WTB in the market section. Maybe someone that's converted to a return style system will sell theirs.

OP, put up a pic of exactly what you need. I have a few spare parts and lines and maybe I can get something to you. What clip are you needing?

Is this the whole piece you are looking for?

If that's the case, take Catmonkey's advice and just convert to an AN setup. I did that years ago and it's easy and worth the little bit of money. I used two of the EFI connectors Cat linked to in -8 size, two straight fittings, and about 2 feet of hose. Putting together the end near the firewall is a bitch, but you can get to it from the wheel well I believe. The engine side is a snap.

Yes, thats it. Thanks for the tip but I want to just keep it stock as far as that goes. Not sure what it's such a rare find but as soon as I find the part number I guess I'll start my search :)

I’ve got most of my stock fuel system sitting in the garage. I’ll see if I have that hose tomorrow and it’s yours if you want to pay for shipping.

I’m surprised that thing broke on you. You don’t need a tool to remove it, just disengage the clip.

A couple points. I also had an issue with the tab for that TB connector.. Broke off. I used it for years without replacing, just pushed it in and it didn't move. To replace, you'll either need to order from Ford the whole upper harness or the replacement pigtail (if they offer). Not sure about the fuel line issue at the fuel rail (I'll need to reread your post) but I've removed mine a few times without issue with basic tools.

I used -8 as well because I have it going to an aftermarket billet fuel rail. In that case you only need one fitting. If you're just using it to replace the factory hose -6 would be fine and a little less obvious. Either will work. Ford's been using these push-on fittings since the 80s. I'm sure you can find something to replace it, but I can't tell you what would work. It's just not likely to be molded like the stock piece.

old techs trick for keeping connectors with broken tabs in place: put a small dab of FIPG (silicone) on the outside of the male connector. When you push the connector on, it should go in between the male/female connector ends (but NOT into the terminals).

When it dries it will keep the connector on there, but have enough give that you can get the connector off if you need to. Obviously, replacing the broken connector is better but if you're lazy or broke, this trick will work.

Why are you not going with the AN setup described above? What other choice do you have?
I had rather just put it back like it was if thats an option. I will start checking for a wrecked one local i guess. Not sure why this line on a car last built in 2014 is obsolete..

Cut the connector off and bring it with you to the parts counter and ask for the pigtail catalog. 100% they have that pigtail. Ford uses the same pigtail for different sensors/connectors on different models.
Also search ford parts website. Look through the diagrams
