2017 F250 PS crew cab here. It is the most useful vehicle I have owned. I pull a 24' enclosed but the truck is just great for tossing stuff in the back, and it has space for 5 big bodies.

So as an update, day 3 of driving the handmedown Elantra. With the whole Saudi/Iran thing going on and gas potentially jumping, it appears I made a good move if gas does jump. Averaging about 32mpg to work. Filled it up monday afternoon for a whopping 20 dollars, and have easily put 75 miles on it already. It just now dropped by 1/10th of the gas gauge (it's digital with dashes). In terms of a back and forth to work, bluetooth/moonroof/power everything/heated seats/gas mileage/cold AC, I can't complain. I'll be able to go 2 weeks on 20 bucks. The F150 did 60 a week.

I think a truck is a good idea, but we can't spend money on one right now since we just dropped coin to get out of the F150 and into the Honda. It'll give me some time without and I can see if it's truly a need and not a want. If I can manage through borrowing/renting, then I may just stick with that. My old man pointed out I'd have a truck, the civic, the elantra, and the mustang. Seems a bit excessive for just two people. lol.
5-10k will get you a decent 5.4L . That's what I just did. No re-gertz =P

ouch, and yeah I'm with you on buying another Ford. I must admit, the new Lincoln's are drawing me in, but Ford's service dept has left a nasty taste in my mouth that i'll never forget. So lots of other brands are currently being given consideration now, where before all of my shopping has been within the Ford lineup.

I’m surprised the Lincoln’s are drawing KingBargin in. I figured it would be a Versa or Spark.

I daily a f350 CC long bed on 35’s in SoCal. I can’t see myself in a car or SUV. I will ALWAYS have a truck. I’ve had a truck ever since I was 16, that’s half my life!

A deleted 6.7 Ram 2500 Cummins is my daily driver. Love it. It's a Laramie with all the goodies.

I can't imagine not owning a truck.

I went without a truck for a few years between the 1997 Jeep Wrangler & the 2003 M3 as my daily.

My fiance and I will be moving within the year so the M3 is going and I just picked up a 2011 F-150 with the 5.0

How is this current generation Super Duty? I imagine the 6.7 has enough torque to make the trailer seem like it weights nothing. Hows fuel economy? Looks like a brick but a tough brick haha

Had trucks for 30 years until this spring. Sold the last one, a Ranger, to our son.
Something about a pick-up truck. Always believed Jerry Jeff said it best:

Closest thing I've had to a truck is my 4Runner TRD Off Road, haven't run into a situation yet where I've needed a truck and I don't foresee ever getting one unless I decide to buy a 5th wheel.

I loved my 2004 PS 6.0 (especially after Bulletproofing it). That truck only let me down once in 12 years.

But the 2017 is a better, no a much better truck. The trailer weighs like 3,700 lbs and with the Cobra inside up to 6,200 lbs. This truck pulls it easily compared to the 2004.

Mileage without the trailer on the highway is 16.8, mileage with the trailer loaded is like 13 if I don't get crazy on speed.
