Ford of recent has been behind or delayed with new models, down on new ideas, with a rather inflated ego since Hackett took over.

It's appalling that both GM and FCA have far higher stock prices, while Ford is below $10. And we Ford guys are beating our drums about not taking a bailout.... yep, means nothing at this point. I was a vocal critic of GM and FCA over it and they are in a stronger position than Ford 10 years later? Shameful.

Nearly everything Alan Mullaly did to stabilize Ford and set them up for long term success has been squandered. Wall Street sees this, it's evident in their product lineup, and future product is either VERY late to the party or not even announced.

At this point I don't give a **** about the GT500 compared to the health of FoMoCo as a company.

Ford has a TON of shares outstanding so it makes the share price lower. Valuation wise, Ford is worth 37billion. Fiat/Chrysler 21 Billion. and GM is 53 billion.

The Price to Earnings ratio for Ford is healthy. I think on the message board we equate performance cars with company health and that isn't really a good indicator (just ask Toyota or Honda). Ford isn't doing bad, but internally they are having issues it seems, making improvements should be doable.

Boss 429 + big cam = nothing else matters

Interesting thing I learned about those cars.

I knew someone who had a couple of them throughout the years. Some stock, some built (more than factory). All true Boss 9 cars.

He said they sucked to drive. They ran hot, had horrible street manners, drove like crap, and weren't all that fun. On a race course I'm sure they shined, but once I realized how race car they really are, it took the "stars out of my eyes" for them. Cool cars, but what's even cooler is something you can actually drive and enjoy.

1. Sorry but it is more like 99% of GT500 & C8 owners will never see a track.

2. GT500 would be out of breath heat soaking by lap 5.

3. I would bet the C8 would drag the GT500 at least until 80mph. (Mid engine facts of life)

4. Turbo kits meet emissions

5. 35 year old car with $5k engine is all it would take.

6. Stock vs modded,,,,,,,,,,IDK I'm guessing I'm well into the GT500 demo and tbh the GT500 isn't even in my top 10 of cars I'd want or buy. And I piss away a lot of money on cars. There is nothing exciting or unique about the 2020 GT500. Except maybe the DCT. I won't comment on the feminine euro styling.
It's as if Ford said "Well I guess we have to do something" and they halfheartedly went about it.

Ask yourself this. ""I'm buying a toy, I have a $100k to spend. What am I buying?""

Other points of note. My wife's tits are phenomenal (DD's). And the H2R is pretty damn cool, interesting, and unique. Unlike the GT500.

1. Say they make 5,000 MYGT500s, you think only 50 will see the track? You're kidding, right?
2. It won't be.
3. I would take that bet.
4. True.
5. I would love to hear which car and engine combo you have in mind.
6. While your opinion, this car is radical. It basically is the combination between the 2013/14 GT500 and the 2016/17/18/19/20 GT350R.
7. I've made NUMEROUS posts about how I'm planning to buy one.
8. I have no comment about your wife's tits.
9. The H2R is the wildest vehicle I've ever operated.

Personally I think thats wonderful. It should help aid engineers and technology developers in making future cars (im sorry "mobility devices") modern and desirable.

Issue still remains that until product wearing the Blue Oval being developed there at the finished campus is launched, they still have to make desirable product NOW. Killing off sedans, launching a 7.3L with less than 500ft lbs of torque when your 5.0L Coyote for Mustang makes 420 ft lbs, and delays in launching new product have hurt their bottom line IMO. That all starts at the top.

You can see the furniture salesman coming through lol.

Dodge & deflect seems to be Hackett's M.O.
I was thinking, how does this help Ford? Hackett is still in control. Nothing has changed from admin to new products. Specifically in China. Am I missing something?

It looks cool but they need to sell cars.

lol

Yet, you get saddened when you decide to purchase vehicles other than Fords?

Does not compute.

See if this can COMPUTE for you.

I have happily driven a multitude of FORD products for 30 years, as long as I have been able to drive. I have NEVER not had a FORD in the driveway. It does elicit feelings of "sadness" to be considering ending that. I may even be getting rid of the F-53 based RV we have, and then all Ford ties are gone. The BLUE OVAL has taken me to all corners of the country and back, yeah, there is some familiarity that turned into fondness. My COBRA has put a smile on my face thousands of times.

So hard to understand where the "saddened" feelings may come from?

I wont cry of it, far from it, maybe more disappointed than sad.

I will say, the exhaust note alone from a GT350 is almost enough to stay with the Blue Oval one more time, almost...

Cars don't make me sad. It must be rough to have your feelings dependent on a manufacturer's current car line. I can only imagine the sadness you endured during the 80s, I'm sure you were prescribed something.

The GT350 exhaust note is exotic, intoxicating, and straight up nasty. The GT500 will be as awesome as well.

I'm sorry to see you're selling your Ford RV, I would highly suggest a Prevost. We've had a few of them over the years, and going from a Prevost to a Ford RV I can see where depression may set in, however going the other way...it would cure your sadness of not owning a Ford anymore.

Snag a C7 at $20k under MSRP, sell your other stuff, and take the saved money and grab a few year old Prevost, won't be upset with your decision.

Yes but that plan was scrapped for this new and different plan, which I assure you has a very high probability of being scrapped for yet another new and different plan by the next guy...

Which is coming sooner than most would think.

Not soon enough....
What most are thinking.

I'm still getting over the fact that Hackett got placed there in the beginning. I can't fathom running a multi-billion dollar company, but I'm sure I could wake up with my head half-way up my ass and do a better job than he is.

I imagine being handed the keys to the kingdom made his ego inflate tenfold.

There's a bit of a paradox with certain people being put into positions of power. They start out being good team players, and managing other people getting projects done efficiently. They then get moved up the ladder a bit further for their success, and so on until they get to the day they get installed as CEO.

Some sort of switch flips on that day in folks like hackett. They no longer care about relating to those below them, or even considering that those people are smarter/have a better idea than they might. It's the "Well they made me CEO, so clearly I know more/better about X than you do". Suddenly they're tangentially chasing pipe dreams and reforming the company into a shell of what is was, losing the entire spirit of the original brand in the first place.

The best CEO is the guy that says "I am not the smartest guy in the room. But the smart guy in the room works for me, and I listed to him and value his opinion"

I agree in the principle of your statement, but also disagree when saying that's what happened with Hackett.

Is this what you were referencing a few pages back when talking about the 2-3 dollar Gain? If so, when do you think it’s happening?
