I never owned a truck or SUV in my life since I first started driving in 1991

1987 Plymouth Sundance
1992 Ford Tbird LX
1998 Ford Contour
1999 Olds Alero
2003 Mercury Marauder, my longest owned vehicle 2003 to 16
1993 Dodge Intrepid DD
1999 Mercury Mystique DD
2001 Ford Crown Vic Sport DD
2007 Chrysler 300 C
2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
2010 Pontiac Vibe GT DD
2005 Corvette convertible

and now my current 2014 Chevrolet SS

Out of all these vehicles the Dodge Intrip and Chrysler 300 was the worse since they had a whole lot of issues with them that didn't become apparent until I bought them.

Don’t have a truck and probably never will. I’ve owned a few SUV’s but never had a need for a truck.

Just have an Expedition and a Grand Cherokee.

First time in a while I don't have a pickup.

Holding out hope for the TRX before considering another Raptor.

what kind of issues was it giving you?

Mine had the fatal casting sand flaw. So cab off the frame, engine out, new engine in, all of that redone. Couple that with the fact the old motor and new one (atleast the truck engine) is so damn noisey, it knocks and taps like a worn out 200k mile SBF.

Then it also had a massive HVAC failure where the water backed up into the cab, and white mold formed all under the floor mats and into the passenger footwell (under the mat, couldn't see it till I smelled it). Dash was going to have to come out, carpet replaced (so all of the interior), and more.

It was going to be a completely rebuilt truck that we all know was going to rattle like hell. Only had 10k miles on it. Won't ever own a Ford again, it was the perfect storm of shit.

Yea, I'll definitely miss driving the F150 everyday.

I may end up going with an SUV though. That seems to be the logical solution since we have a dog, and with a kid it's easy. If it's a large enough SUV, I can slap a motor in the back or whatever. Tow a trailer etc.

I've owned 1 truck in my life. I bought a 14 Ram 1500 crew cab. I loved the idea of having a truck, thought it would be super helpful. It partially was, when i bought my new mattress, taking trash to the dumpster, etc. The problem I ran into was I bought it when I lived in the city and didn't realize how much of a pain in the ass it was to drive a large truck/vehicle in a city with small parking lots and lots of traffic. I felt like i had to 3 point turn into and out of any parking spot and without a backup camera it was a nightmare. I sold it with only 6k miles on it and bought my FoST.

Now that I don't live in the city any more I would love to buy another one but with a work commute of ~60 miles a day I appreciate the fuel efficiency of a car. I will own another one but I don't think it will be a DD.

I had always had a truck, until this time around. Bought an Expedition which gets most of the job done most of the time. No one has asked to borrow my SUV in the last two years. However, I do have a box truck for one of my businesses that I keep pretty quiet about. If I truly need to move something I grab that.

Do you miss the idea of the truck or the actually usage of the truck?

I have a V8 4Runner and a high mileage Silverado that stays at the parents 2nd home about an hour away. The 4Runner is perfectly adequate for 95% of my needs. Tows the boat, towed the old Civic easily on a borrowed flatbed, just used it to pickup a new water heater and it's great in shitty weather. I know a few people with flatbed trailers I can borrow if needed and best of all the vehicle has been paid off for over 5 years.

Would I like an F150? Hell ya I would but do I need one and the accompanying big monthly payment? No way.

If I had to guess after sorting through myself, prob the idea.

How much I actually used the truck was hit or miss. When I used it, I used it like hell.

I currently have three trucks. Two 4 cylinder rangers that I commute with and a 4X4 F150. I live on 40 acres, so having a truck is definitely needed, I'll never be without one.

ouch, and yeah I'm with you on buying another Ford. I must admit, the new Lincoln's are drawing me in, but Ford's service dept has left a nasty taste in my mouth that i'll never forget. So lots of other brands are currently being given consideration now, where before all of my shopping has been within the Ford lineup.

For a few years lately I drove a Ford Fusion. Once I got my Ram and was back in a truck I now cant see myself ever not having a truck again.

I do not have a truck or suv and never will. I do have a house and I do work on it all the time. So I got a wagon to get most items. If I'm doing big projects I have the store deliver it. My wife also has a car and hates suvs also.

Don't have a truck. Never had one either. My dad has always had one that I can use if I absolutely need it.

Only times I recall absolutely needing a truck was when moving, towing my motorcycle to the shop, and that one time I needed to get a door from a donor car at the junkyard.

The other vehicle I have is a full size sedan so I can usually throw whatever in the backseat or trunk for now until I put my audio equipment back in lol.

The only time I didn't have a truck I had a full sized SUV. For the handy man this meant a trailer was necessary. I built one of those fold in the middle Northern Tool / Harbo Freight ones with a 4' x 8' plywood deck. Thing was handy AF and actually easier to load since it was closer to the ground than the bed of a truck. Plus it didn't matter if I was careless and scraped it up.

I dont personally own a truck but we have the 02 L in the family still (and I will never let it leave the family either).

It's 13yrs old with between 296k-300k miles and I still love the thing as much as when Pops took me with him to get it brand new.
