As some of you have seen in some of my earlier threads im looking to change out my seats and Ive settled on the Corbeau A4s, they are one of the most popular after market seats for looks, comfort and price especially for the Corvette crowd. ---They have a choice of standard or wide. They say the standard size is good for up to a 36" waist but some complain that they are tight fitting. I have 34" waist but I dont want to feel like Im being squeezed in, especially at the shoulders-----so I need some recommendations or advice on these seats.

Corbeau Mustang A4 Wide Racing Seat - Black Cloth - Pair 60091W (79-19 All)

I cant afford Recaro's and dont want to take a chance on the cheaper and Ebay seats.

They are a little tight. It’s fine for me as driver but kind of a squeeze for some passengers

Are you in the 34"-35" waist range, if you had to do over would you have gone with the wider ones? What material did you go with and what material do you recommend? How tight on your shoulders?

I actually have the Corbeau Forza seat, sorry. For what it helps though, it seems like we're about the same size - I have pretty broad shoulders and I fit OK. Mine came with the car, and I haven't tried the wide model, but if I were buying new I might go with the wider one simply for more flexibility of who's in my car. If you can sit in both somehow and try them before purchasing, do that. Mine are cloth with leather on the front, sides, etc. like the A4 and I like the mix - they're sturdy and seem to hold up well.

Im probably going to go with the WIDE option, I dont need to feel squeezed in, also probably going with the all leather option, why? because I like leather, it doesnt stain and cleans up easier and the leather option doesnt have the giant Corbeau lettering on the seat. Some say you slide around on leather but not on cloth----well Ive had lots of leather seats and I do not slide around especially if buckled in with a harness.

I’ve got a 34 inch waist mixed with broad shoulders and with that said I used to have a set of wide Corbeau CR1’s that fit perfectly. Before buying these I sat in a buds set of standard A4’s and they were freaking tiny. The thigh section was fine but up top got pretty uncomfortable rather quickly.

Part that sucks is out of all the wide’s I’ve encountered they don’t seem to fit well as in they hit the door cards or center console.

Thanks for input. You say that your CR1s wide fit perfect, but standards are tiny, but then you say the wides you have encountered dont fit fit well??? What wides other than you CR1s dont fit well?---seems a little conflicted? Your CR1s wide didnt hit anything but other wides did??

If the uppers spec out to 24" wide, the upper seats edges tend to touch the doors.

Same for the bottoms.

What I’m saying is the wide’s fit my body perfectly, but not so much when it comes to the actual car as they hit the door cards and center console. In my experience the CR1’s took a little more effort to close the passenger door as you could hear the rubbing of the seat/door panel.

The A4s have a narrower lower seat than the CR1s but the top of the A4s are about the same as the CR1s. Are you saying you had wide CR1s that touched the door---- and/or you have had or sat in wide A4s that touch the door?

Yes, I had a set of wide CR1's that touched the door enough that I had to slam the passenger door to get it to close. The A4's that I sat in were standard sized and did not hit the door.
With what you mentioned about the A4 sizing I almost wish I had gone with A4's to begin with.

I put a pair of the wide fixed back corbeau seats in my scca ranger since I am the skinnier one of our racing group with a 34” waist and they are comfortable! I just bought a cobra with the standard size reclining corbeau seats that should fit a 36, but it’s a tight fit for me. I like them but it limits who can go into the car(not saying that’s bad either)

The wide leather A4s that I was going to order couldnt be ordered through any of the Corbeau dealers but only through Corbeau because it was a special order. Corbeau doesnt offer free shipping and no discount code. So I decided to go with the standard width with leather from a dealer----free shipping and a 5% discount from LMP. I should be ok cause Im on the lower side of a 34" waist. And I will not have to worry about the door hitting the bolsters. I didnt order the mounting brackets to go with it untill i see if I can adapt the seats to my stock mounts, any advice on doing that would be appreciated. Ill report back with the results.

Good to know. Update the thread when you get them installed.

Got my Corbeau A4s installed and good thing I didnt order the wide because there definitely would have been fitment issues. I would not recommend the standard size for any one over a 34" waist and/or wider than average shoulders. They look good in leather and really go with the black (dark charcoal) interior. They are comfortable, the only negative so far is that there is no room for seat belt guides because the upper seats are too close to the door , you really have to contort your arm to reach the buckle. ----

Now I have my pristine 11k miles original cobra seats for sale, very close to like new.--- If SERIOUSLY interested-P.M. me, i can send you pics.

I had A4's in my 240sx and loved them but to be fair they were all i knew, a huge step up from stock, and I'm 6'2" 185ish.
