I have to disagree on the Recaro thing. When someone looks for 13-14 GT500, don't they desire the Recaros? And the same with GT350's? Those seats should be standard and the other seats offered at no cost.

Recaros are standard in the 2020 GT350's, you have to pay extra for the standard seats in the GT350 (900A).

From the 2020 Order Guide

2020 GT350
Leather-trimmed with Miko® Suede Sport Seats with Seat Back Map Pockets (replaces standard RECARO® Cloth/Miko® Suede Sport Seats)
– 4-way Adjustable Head Restraints
– 6-way Power Driver Seat with Power Lumbar
– 6-way Power Passenger Seat
– Climate Controlled Front-Seats (Heated/Cooled)
– Memory Recline

Can I get a 2020 GT500 for 25k less if it comes with the TR6060? I don't mind being "slow" for 25k less.

60k GT500 sounds about right. For all you guys dropping 100k+ on this car - good luck with that depreciation

Yes! However you'd have to call Larry Silverstein, he took his insurance money from the Twin Towers and purchased the rights to sell MY20 GT500s with the TR6060.

My 2014 GT500 is $60k right now, low miles vert only 900 made! This 2020 GT500 is going to blow the '13-'14s out of the water in overall performance, especially in the suspension and handling.

What’s up die hard manual guy?!
If you read between the lines Ford already gave you the manual plan you want, it’s just that you gotta call a guy named Dustin Whipple. GT350 + Whipple is what YOU want. Or you can buy my 6-speed 2014 but you’ll need more than $60k, and it’s too much car for you anyway :)

Not much little button dude. Sorry bro ford did not give me an option I wanted. Was looking for a twin turbo V8 mustang with a manual transmission. Remember the Eco Beast trademark? Yeah man, what a downer that didn’t happen. Oh well bro the sun still comes up tomorrow right? Tight man.

I understand that the cost to Ford isn't really 25k, but you have to take into account the actual cost and R&D. This adds to the price of the car. Yes Ford is taking some of the cash that the dealers were getting.
That is why this car is upping the game(Just like Ford did with the GT350). If Ford just rinsed and repeated (like Dodge) it wouldn't be as desirable as it is.

I meant the customer doesn't traditionally directly pay full parts catalog cost for components either. Take the GT350 for example. The carbon wheels are like $29k when priced out by themselves. Well, the R isn't $29k more than the base 350. I was just saying that using his logic that the DCT automatically adds $25k is a moot point in that case. And it's yet to be seen if this DCT really is upping the game. If it's holds power and is durable, yes. But if it ends up being the weak point in this car, there will be bitching like we've never seen before. From what I understand there is no rebuilding it or beefing it up. If it goes, you will need a replacement.

I would bet you a MY21 GT500 that it won't be the weak point. You in?

Exactly. Guys that are in the know or have talked to actual Ford engineers aren’t worried. I mean, why would I trust the guy driving a mule walking out of the dry cleaners with 3 Ford Performance Sparco driving suits? I mean he said he’s a die hard stick guy and that even he was impressed. I also told him of my mild bolt on (800rwhp) plans and he said it wouldn’t be an issue. Catalytic converters were his only concern.
Ditto for the Tremec engineers.
What do they know anyway?

As it usually is with anything in life, the people "complaining" are the ones that aren't (usually can't) purchase said item, in this case, the 2020 GT500 anyway. They are always the first ones to point out what's wrong or it could have been done this way, or should have been priced this much, etc.

We saw the same thing in 2013/2014 when the GT500s were released. "Oh I can make more power for xxx less, why would I spend that much on the GT500, that's crazy". So many times. Shit I bet if you went back and looked up some of the first threads for that year, you will see countless people saying similar things. And the counter to that at that time was the same. You aren't just paying to make the car have xxxx more HP or go xx faster. The price includes all of the added benefits and technology that came along with it. CF drive shaft, better suspension, etc.

Same for 2020. It's not just about more HP. It's about ALL of the advancements that have gone into the car since the previous model 7 years ago.

EDIT - Of course I guess I'm biased because I ordered one? lol

Where’s that Anchorman ‘big deal’ meme when you need it?
I would be ALL OVER a twin turbo Ecobeast 5.2.
Of course, because I don’t know how to drive a manual, I’d want it WITH A DCT. :)
