Anybody have any suggestions on getting the most gains on your N/A 4v whether it’s:
comp cams?
short runner?
head/intake porting?
nitrous?

410/430 Gears & squirt a 100 shot down the intake.
I tend to do 40-50 rolls, which gearing would you prefer? I've been thinking about going nitrous but the thing is i want constant power. I have a fully rebuilt motor, forged internals and everything so I'm not worried. Down to try it tho.

having built NA 2001 I would just go straight boost. As the 400rwhp isnt enough now NA and I am going boost anyways... I could have been at well over 600hp for the amount of spend I have in a 400 rwhp NA build.

Yeah that's always true, Ive always been that NA power guy tho lol but it seems that either boost or nitrous is the way to go... just wanted to hear what some of yall had in mind. always great to get new ideas.

You have the wrong engine. Mods don’t do well N/A until the introduction of the Coyote based engines. Even then they aren’t as responsive to N/A mods like a pushrod is. When concerning boost and nitrous Mods shine. Do a blower swap or turbo and push it as far as your internals can handle. If you’re adamant about staying N/A you need more cubes. Boost and nitrous are cheaper and you get more. If it was mine, C head swap kit, keep your stock cams, blower, and have fun. Your choice.
Also you need suspension if you haven’t already done upgrades.

i have yet to do any suspension work other than lowering springs. was considering it once i get into the big boy power. when it comes to boost, my two choices are slapping a vortech, or C head swapping and slapping a blower. always loved the whine.

if you want to go NA you need to be happy with under 400 from what I've read. I'm building a corner carver and I'd be really happy if it could hit 12's at all, that's plenty for me.

but that's me and I'm weird. if ya want more you wanna go another route.

I’d suggest working on the suspension before adding any more power. If I’m not mistaken Kenne Bell offers a little blower for a B head 4V, think it’s a 2.1L?

If you want to play with any modern day cars you need either boost or a stroker/big bore if staying N/a with the 4v.

There are some guys on here with stroker / big bore, c heads, custom cams and intake that are making over 400rwhp.

Personally my next motor will be a 323 from livernois with c heads, custom cams, fr500 intake and high compression with e85.

NASVT Recipe fixed!!!
NA ~300 RWHP with 96-98 DOHC B-Head 4.6L:
K&N filter
OEM Cams
March damper
March hydraboost and WP pulleys
Long tubes
Hi Flow Cats/Cat Delete mid-pipe
B-Head SRI
90mm LMAF
Tune (canned..more $ for real tuner tune)

350 RWHP:
106100/106060 comp cams properly degreed.
Tune.

na svt (Todd Warren) has custom cams now and a FB page.
Everything on this list can be ported over to a BB, stroker or BB-stoker at a later date.
Same for a procharger SC, minus the March damper and pulleys.

The 99-01 have the C heads.
There is a separate Newedge forum for them and separate recipe as well.
