2011 with Killer Chiller

Hey guys,

Just had the killer chiller installed and I am trying to figure out if its working how it is supposed to. IAT1 is showing 25* and IAT2 is 80-85* while the ambient temp was 77* yesterday (this is after about 30 min of driving on the highway). When I touch the side of the coolant tank it feels on the colder side compare to the one next to it. I did have the heat exchanger deleted as well. As far as car goes, it feels more ready to go but the weird thing is before Id spin the tires in warmer weather if I just hit it from 3rd gear but now I get traction lol, did I somehow lose torque? She seems like it pulls hard top end. I will be data logging for Lund in the next few days. Oh and it is the drag kit.

Unless your IAT1 reading is celsius, your MAF may need replacement. IAT1 is north of the killer chiller, so there's no reason for it to be lower than ambient. I'd go so far as to say it's virtually impossible. 80-85 on IAT2s would be very low for fahrenheit, so if that's accurate, I'd say your killer chiller is doing its job. If that's celsius too, it's pretty damn hot and time to put the heat exchanger back on the car. Why one reading would be celsius and the other fahrenheit doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

They are both Fahrenheit. I guess something is off. Would they be able to see an issue in the log?

Just cruising, for some reason I was thinking they promise under ambient temps for iat2 at least?

Below ambient temperature for IAT2 only happens is under WOT pull when the bypass valve fully closed for killer chiller. At cruising speed your engine vaccum is still holding the bypass valve open thus a large portion of air pass thru the bypass valve instead of going thru the intercooler.

doesn't the ac stop working under WOT as well tho? Maybe I should have done more research before ordering and having my mechanic install it :(

This is a common misunderstand of how the bypass actuator/valve works.

When the bypass valve is open intake air doesn't flow through it and bypass the rotors. It's actually the other way around, supercharger outlet (compressed) air flows up through it and back into the intake path. Cruising the supercharger rotors are creating more air than then engine needs, this unused air creates issues and needs to go somewhere. So the bypass valve opens and allows this unused trapped air to go somewhere, back into the intake to be reused.
