The powder coating on the valve covers is flaking, so I'm looking for a set I could get powder coated. If you've got a set in good shape, I may take those if the price is right.

Hey Cat, if you don't buy one of the sets mentioned above, I have a pair that I bought from a SVT friend of mine 8+ years ago, they are PC Black, but the unique thing is, they are smooth, and not wrinkle finish like the oem covers on my 2008. "Supposedly" they were on a 5.4 DOHC display engine at SVT, but I have no way to verify that except that my SVT friend told me that he got a hold of them when that display engine was disassembled. I had to look for the box that they are bubble wrapped and stored in, to verify where they were, and I located them this past weekend before I replied. If nothing else, I can get them out of the box, unwrap them and take some pictures to verify what exactly they appear to be.

"Supposedly" the Black valve cover display engine was disassembled when a 2011 Alum. Block/Blue valve cover engine was put in its place for display.

To be honest, it has been so long since I have looked at them, I would have to verify the condition, they were nice last I remember, but that was almost 10 year ago now. They may not be anything you are interested in, but if nothing else, they are unique.

That is about all I know about them...........

"Some" extra cash? Is that $3652.75 PER cover? Gonna take slightly more than some extra cash in my household...! Geez.....

^^^^I know, I know........but I thought that was for a pair. I didn't realize that the driver side and the passenger side 5.4/5.8 DOHC valve covers were the same, I was thinking the passenger side had the threaded hole for the oil fill and the drivers side had the area for the PCV hose to attach that was not the same as the passenger side (not to mentioned the SVT builder plate pad)?

Yes, at $3600+ each that is REAL crazy!.......and I thought it was bad at $1800+ each......

I saw that! That is for each! I was willing to sell for the 4.5% tax Virginia would charge on that purchase.

Well......inquiring minds just had to know! I called Jegs to ask about these billet covers and the girl who answered did not know if it was "each or pair", so she asked someone else, they did not know, so she got in contact with a Granatelli support tech.......it is for a pair. He said that the billet block weighs 60lbs to start with and it takes approx. 8 hours to machine each cover with multiple cool downs during the 8 hours. He is supposed to send me a picture of the drivers side cover, but it has not come in my email yet.

For $3600 I would much rather buy something functional like a full roller set of followers for my GT500, to put under these covers........but the Granatelli covers would be cool, if the DOHC valve covers were not such a pain to change.

Jesel full roller followers for the 5.4/5.8 DOHC (and SOHC) Ford........
