I just picked up an electric chain saw for some small light duty work I have to do. So far I like it, and it’s great to use it with out the loud droning noise of the two stroke versions. Also it’s a lot lighter so that’s a win.

I have a bunch of the large Milwaukee m18 9.0 and 12.0 amp hr batteries and I far from take care of them. They’re still going strong months of not years later.

Honestly I got out of the rotation on all of it after I left retail about 10yrs ago. Im looking at the stuff now, since Im not up to date on electric. If the chargers are doing the battery cycles and its being took care of. I tell people there is not anything wrong with it as long as your not doing work on huge acreage.
Now me personally Im with @03Sssnake give me that noise and smell and Im good to go do some lawn work.
I have their mower and I love it. My yard is .35 acres and it cuts the whole thing and still has 25% charge left. Was skeptical and against it till my neighbor let me try his. 5 year warranty on mower and 3 year on battery

I just can’t do electric. 2-Stroke has never me down. I swap out carbs every two years with $30 spares and they run like clock work. I view battery powered yard tools with suspicion and derision, just because I’ve never used one.

I really think it depends on the brand, and these guys have down pretty good. This isn't the damn disposable crap. Chargers are even fan cooled..
You can leave them plugging in Greg, but I don't.
Maybe a hobby type charger like the ones used for rc quads, helis, cars etc. it’s honestly worse to leave a battery fully charged if storing, better to leave it partially discharged.
Electric tools like yard equipment have come a long way. Much less to deal with such as mixing oil and fuel, cords for electric that you have to roll up and keeps getting snagged. I’d have to say op made a pretty wise decision. I don’t think a lawn crew who do multiple yards per day would benefit, but a homeowner doing his own yard will.
I was looking at the blower for drying the car and then maybe occasional yard work (I pay someone to do most of that shit, I hate it) - does it come with a nozzle or anything to go on the end?
glad to see you guys are catching up to me. I mentioned this over a year ago and of course, the usual group of...people... mobbed up and hurled their usual insults. No surprise. Anyways, you'll enjoy it and just make sure the battery is cool when you recharge it, it will last longer that way

I have the Milwaukee fuel string trimmer. Compared to a gas one Its like a Tesla p100D vs a 2v mustang gt. Its incredible. Still rocking a gas mower but when milwaukee comes out with a brushless mower its game over.

I always leave mine in these days, any decent li-poly or lithium-ion charger will actually be better left in as it will monitor battery health and adjust accordingly. I have an ego mower and trimmer. I had one bad battery in the trimmer but it was completely my fault, My ego mower has a large battery that is enough to do .3 acre property and then swap that same battery to the trimmer in one charge. I used the trimmer battery once when I got it, let it run down and then didn't charge it for 6+months and it died. ( worst thing you can do for a lithium battery is run it down to 100%) I've had my ego mower for 3 years and I can say I've lost maybe a 5% charge in well over times mowing my lawn in 3 years.
Agree with everything except for the will never own an Electric car.
I’ve owned a Tesla Model 3 for about 5 months now and it’s a great vehicle. I’ve had no issues and it’s a lot of fun to drive.
