Started off when I was backing out of the driveway over a week ago and noticed a puddle. Parked the cobra and it was a puddle of fuel leaking from under the rear. It was leaking from around one of the -6AN fittings to my Y-block. Not sure if hose was back out from fitting or nut was loose. Either way I took it apart and need some help identifying the fittings. Had this setup for about 10-12 years now that was on a friend’s cobra as well. Here comes the pics...

if probably just order a whole new 6an female hose end for braided hose, looks like its NOT ptfe lined. It might be a son of a bitch to replace with the hose on the car, I did all my PTFE lined stuff using aluminum vice jaws on a work bench

I just put it all back together to pinpoint after tightening everything, it’s definitely leaking from the hose to fitting. It was as an SOB trying to get the fitting to the hose. I could tell it was still loose and not a good connection, but I had to try and make due.

1. I need to figure how I’m going to cut the line as to where the braided part is not frayed out while UNDERNEATH the car.

2. Get a new -6an fitting.

I'd seriously consider replacing all the lines with PTFE. It would suck to fix this then have another go out, then another, etc.

Could I use 1 fitting with one end that twist into the hose and the other end on the blue male end on my Y- block? Instead of two separate fittings

If length allows, cut about 1 inch off the leaking hose. Tape up the hose, where you need to cut, keep debris out of the hose, or flush. A cut off wheel is good, but might make sparks on the stainless braid, so no gas or fumes. I am pretty sure that will fix your leak unless a fitting has a crack or the seat is galled.

Slide the barrel nut on before cutting, use lube on threads that go into hose.

Went to Harbor Freight and got some 32” bolt cutters last night after work....worthless POS frayed the line. Got some 24” bolt cutters at Home Depot and made a clean cut. Got the fittings on nice and tight, secured everything, no leaks.
