P1229 code. Supercharger intercooler pump not operating condition.
I only noticed it because I checked for diagnostic codes. There are no check engine lights or anything that are present. Seems to run fine, what are my possible causes? Shouldnt the check engine light be on if there were a real issue?

Easy way to tell - what are your IAT2s looking like lately?

I've read about several similar malfunctions, which I don't think cause any kind of check engine light. It will run fine until/unless you get into boost, when you'll quickly heat soak. Cause is malfunctioning I/C pump, which could be due to its fuse blowing, the pump failing, or its wiring harness shorting out. Ways to verify include confirming IAT2, looking for circulation in the I/C reservoir (there isn't much observable in these cars, so I find it easiest to pinch the bottom hose a little, which causes turbulence in the reservior) and/or using a jumper to power the pump when the engine isn't running.

IAT’s ranged from 95-104 degrees today and its 92 degrees temp here where I live today. The I/C is definitely flowing at all times when the engine is running as I can see the flow in the reservoir tank.

How are you reading those temps? They look more like IAT than IAT2. IAT is usually within 10 degrees of ambient, while IAT2 is normally at least 30 degrees above that.

The in dash IAT gauge. And when I was stopped in traffic for 20 min just now, it got ip to 170. It is 95 degrees outside right now. Seems high? Or not? Thanks Norton.

It is not throwing the code anymore however. Just that one time, and its much hotter today. Im gonna hook up my scan tool/programer and check the IAT2’s when I get home later.

Unfortunately, that is IAT (which isn't particularly informative), not IAT2 (that's much more useful). 170 is defnitely hot but, depending on how long and slow your traffic jam was, it's believable with 95 degree ambient temp.

Definitely a good idea. Maybe you had an errant code/sensor, but strongly recommend you confirm before logging many miles with possible malfunctioning I/C pump.

On my SCT X handheld tuner, it only has one IAT gauge to read, and it matches the in dash gauge exactly. Today was 95 degrees. Got ip to 170 degrees idling in traffic. When driving, remains between 95-108 degrees. Depending on what I read, some say thats ok, others say that it sounds high. Car is not overheating at all. Pump is circulating, you can remove the cap to the tank and see it moving pretty strong.

Keep an eye on your alternator voltage. An intermittently weak alternator can be a pain in the ass and might throw codes like that.

As said by others, your IAT1s are normal (for Georgia summers). Sitting in traffic with the A/C on, hovering over hot asphalt...there's no doubt you can get temps in that range. You should be able to use the SCT to check your IAT2 temps though.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it.
