So badass. I never was in love with the Chiron as much as I was with the Veyron, but with the minor exterior modifications they have done and that color combo, that car looks fantastic. I hope this is going to be the 2020/2021 Chiron SS and have this setup be a production model. That would be extremely badass.

Car is sick no doubt. Always feel access to that track is really what limits others. I dont doubt Koenigsegg has cars capable. Hell a F-GT did it in a mile, obviously cant compare a race car to a luxury rocketship though. Amazing work of art, no questioning that Bugattis just does do it for me. Call me a hater...

I honestly thought Koeneggsegg would be the first to do it, but good for Buggati, they build some of the most incredible cars in the world. And I absolutely love how evil this one looks. I'm guessing this will be the new Chiron SS

Too bad they didn't do it in a production car..... stripped interior, different body work, and they only went one direction? It's cool but I want to see it done in a production car. Unless this is a new model then God damn.....

SSC and Koeniggsegg just missed their though. Nobody will remember who set the record, they'll only remember who gout their first.

I disagree. This isn't a production car.

Bugatti has broken the 300mph barrier
  • Longer by 25cm
  • Reduced rear cross section
  • Rear wing now fixed and more recessed
  • Added power
  • No passenger seat
  • Roll cage added

That's like Ford taking a Mustang, tossing in a cobra jet engine, custom front and rear bumpers, custom aero pieces, no interior, adding a roll cage, and then attempting to impress people with a top speed run. NO!

Back in the 80's it was Porsche vs Ferrari, with production cars.

Koenigsegg still holds the record and the "how" behind their record is 10 times more impressive that this. Plus, they'll hit 300 with the Jesko in production form, and THAT will be impressive.

I was waiting to see this. Seems like this would compete with the Ford GT that ran 300mph a month or two ago?

Oh I completely agree, that wasn't a production car and they didn't set the record. It's generating a lot of press though. SSC and Koeniggsegg both have cars they claim can do it as could be getting this press instead. The problem is that VW owns the only track in the world capable of doing these high speed runs.

I read somewhere they have a plan to build some units of this car.

If they do, 25 of them at least will need to be built. I have no doubt they would sell them all.

Also, FWIW, the changes they made to this car make it look SO much better than the regular Chiron which I found kind of ugly.
