$38k is great money for an SB terminator given the miles it has. How many owners?
If you can sell it at that price I would. Scoop up another SB terminator with lower miles for less. They are out there.
From 9 years ago when I bought it

Alot of nervous people here lol. I took a $500 deposit for my Cobra through Apple Cash and had the buyer pay in the cash for the rest of it.

If it is a scam, which it probably is. The scammer has more ways to make your life miserable then you could imagine. No amount of cash validation, bill of sale, title transfer is going to protect you. Facebook is the number one source for scammers and identity theft.

Kevin, to save reading through 4 pages, do you know where this guy lives? And have you verified his residence? If the answer is NO to either of those questions, I highly recommend that you do it now. And I wouldn't proceed if you cannot verify the identity and residence address of this guy. Wouldn't hurt to get his phone number, too, and verify it by calling him.

This whole thing smells like rotten fish. Not saying it's a scam, but it has all the markings of a scam attempt.

Take his money at the bank then tell him you changed your mind.......REVERSE THE SCAM and see what happens!!??;)
But what if it's not a scam?

I'm more concerned about him
Botching the install (or at his shop of choice) and having it come back on me.

I explained to him that I cannot be held responsible for anything with his portion of the install and that I haven't started the motor after doing the headstuds, cams, oil pump gears, ect ect

Just tell him you were JOKING around......especially if he's ARMED.....back peddle gracefully!!;)
Nearly impossible for him to be legally armed after driving through MA, NY to get to me...
But what scammer follows the law?

If you told him you havent even started or verified if the rebuilt motor runs and he is still basically buying it on the spot sight unseen, Yeah he is a scammer. He can buy literally any Terminator he wants, I doubt not a single person leaves that offer on the table and he is 100% fixated on a non running rebuilt 20k+ mile Terminator for $38k?

I'm "assuming" you're going to get a notarized note saying car is SOLD AS IS. That covers you there.
I would be a little sketchy of him wanting to deposit funds into your account, if that's his plan.
Good luck man, I hope it all works out for you.

I misspoke sort of.

I meant to say,, he will hand cash and then I will deposit into my checking.

At that time I will sign the title and a bill of sale and go help him load up his car

Td bank is a notary. So maybe I'll havr them sign it as well
Definitely if you're going to be there anyways.
My bank has a notary as well. Well worth the money for piece of mind. Give him a copy and you keep the original. (Just in case,.....)

His parents own 2 family style steakhouses I guess. They do check out online.

Granted, I can't link him to it 100% just trying to gather more and more info

Cash only. Make sure its deposited in your account prior to letting the car go.

Get a AS-IS doc created. I would get it notarized if it were me because of the sum of money as well as the car being in pieces. My AS-IS doc would specifically spell that out.

If it comes to pass, sweet. You just got a killer price for your Cobra. If not, oh well. Just cost you some texts back and forth and making this thread.
