Man that sucks, but glad you are a ok.

Tony

If you didn't know, my car is FS if and when you are ready to get into another one, ALAISHI.

Thanks man, ya me too. Lol. I actually have my eye on another one but have to sell a few more things first.

Yep, like everyone before me posted, we're all glad that you survived unharmed and can continue enjoying the sport of racing.

Thanks buddy, yes totally!

Weird seeing another black one torn up. Glad it kept you alive! If you do part (saw you mention) can get decent money. Hell I’ve been hunting seat skins but they go so quick lpl
Yes I hate seeing it too! slowly but surely parting it out. Ya seats are pending sale, seems a lot of people want them.

Swap it in to a Miata.
Lol

That really sucks, Razor, you had a badass ride. Glad to see you made it out without a scratch, though, and at least you've got a lot of parts to resale. You bent the hell out of your axle tube....damn. Any pics of that broken axle you think caused the wreck?

If you're parting out....are you interested in selling the Recaros? I'd take them off your hands for sure. I've got the same color combo on a 2011 and have been looking for a red stripe set forever.

Thanks man.... no I haven’t cut the tube off yet to inspect the center section. The seats are a pending sale already.

Shit man I'm sorry, I'm glad that you're ok.

Thanks man, ya I’m good, just a little emotionally hurt.

View attachment 1596155 Well as some of you already heard, the Mistress died Saturday Aug 10th at 1pm. I smashed into concrete barricades at around 105mph at the 1/8th mile track on Saturday during my 3rd test pass. I am 100% fine, had my medical assessment and to their surprise I don’t even really have any scratches or bruises. I am very thankful because obviously it could have been a lot worse. Thanks to the safety/engineering into a car that’s capable of 200mph from the factory and the safety precautions/ equipment required to race, I only walked away with some monetary and pride damages.

As for what exactly happened, I’m not quite sure yet. It got a little loose on the big end and like I’ve done every other time in the past, I let off. This time when I let off it took a hard right. We are all pretty certain is way mechanical issue. We investigated a bunch of theories
and the most plausible is that I cracked one of my axles on launch. It held together under acceleration but as soon as I went into decel it let go and bound up.

The engine, transmission, most of interior except 2 airbags and drivers side exterior is all good. The passenger exterior is totalled and the frame is ripped.

We know the chances we take and we generally try to make the best decisions while using safety precautions but shit happens. Be Safe.

Like a lot of you, I’m pretty attached to this car, it’s not just a machine to me so this is tough. However, I am not a quitter, this is my sport, my hobbie, my passion! I am not sure what path I’m going to choose next but I have options. I will come back with something faster and just as sexy as the this car.
Sorry man...Thank God you are ok however!

Very sorry to hear. The man above is looking out for you.

Thanks bud... Yes very grateful. The paramedics doing the health assessment watched it happen and they can believe not a scratch or soreness anywhere. Even my heart rate, blood pressure was at baseline. They kept saying “it’s so odd that you have no adrenaline going through your body, how were you not scared.” I said as it was going towards the wall time slowed down and I was just in a state of deep rage grinding my teeth cause I knew there was nothing I could do. I was angry, not scared.

.... ya I’m good, just a little emotionally hurt.

I feel your pain. I speak from my own experience >>

... except mine happened accelerating onto I-10 on dry pavement four years ago. Lost traction, went into a spin, ended up being stopped by palo verde trees in the median... Luckily, I took no one else out, except myself and my husky. Insurance wanted to total... I saved her...

Emotionally, I never fully recovered. I am still gun shy to mash the pedal. I hope you have / will recover so that you can continue enjoying what we all love to do, race.....

Not a funny situation, but I got a good kick out of the anger. I can relate to the “anger before fear” mentality.

Hope the part out goes well and you find a new toy.

Very scary story... Sometimes we explore how to make these cars lighter. It's situations like this where we can be grateful & thank God these cars are big, heavy and safe when things go so bad.
Glad to hear you walked away.

Aww man that sucks and is tough to see. Thanks man, oh that’s rough, not gun shy here, actually I can’t wait until I can get back to the track.

. I’ll keep you in mind if my deck lid sells and they don’t want that panel.

Yup exactly, fear never even crossed my mind, just anger. Thanks bud, me too.

Lol well I wouldn’t go that far, just do what I love! But thanks.

Thanks and ya, I definitely was grateful for the engineering that went into these cars. Think my seat airbag also helped.

I saw this on the GT500 Facebook page, I'm glad you walked away, the 13/14s are very safe, I got hit by a 2500hd Chevy at 60mph in my 2014 GT500 and walked away without a scratch

But as upset as I was that I Iost my GT500. Through it all I found a better one. So hopefully you'll do the same.

Aww man that sucks too! But great you didn’t get injured either! I hope that’s the case for me too thanks man.
