So when I got the new tires on my 2003 cobra I was admiring the look and I realized that my rear end is not centered under the car? My driver side tire sticks out around 1/2-3/4 inch further than my passenger side. I have had the IRS out and replaced all bushings and bolts and the problem is still there. Car Fax shows a minor hit in the front to an embankment, no structural damage or airbags and also a minor damage to the rear undercarriage no structural damage or air bags. As far as I know it doesn't dog walk. I am having it aligned this week by a friend of mine who owns a collision repair shop, I'm going to have him look at it but I'm wondering is this at all a known or common thing? Its one of those things that only you notice but bothers the crap out of me!

Welcome to Ford quality. They don't all sit centered. Mine sits towards the passenger side. It did it before and after the bushing swap. I have a 1/4" spacer on the driver side to even things out. It also sits a little further back. On my 01 I could get to both tank strap bolts with a long straight extension and socket. On my 04 I need a wobble socket to get to the driver side bolt because the cradle blocks it just enough.

According to Bruce @ FTBR what you're seeing is normal automotive manufacturing tolerances. They can very easily be off more than 3/16" to one side. I have the same issue. They said they can shim it over but only about 4-5 mm.

Seems normal. If I think about it I’ll take pictures of my control arms, one side is way in the other out. That was to get it squared. Nature of the beast

At least with a solid axle you can install a pan hard bar and center it up. That’s what I did (not the reason for install but a nice side benifit). I don’t know how you resolve this with the IRS.
