Well as some of you already heard, the Mistress died Saturday Aug 10th at 1pm. I smashed into concrete barricades at around 105mph at the 1/8th mile track on Saturday during my 3rd test pass. I am 100% fine, had my medical assessment and to their surprise I don’t even really have any scratches or bruises. I am very thankful because obviously it could have been a lot worse. Thanks to the safety/engineering into a car that’s capable of 200mph from the factory and the safety precautions/ equipment required to race, I only walked away with some monetary and pride damages.

As for what exactly happened, I’m not quite sure yet. It got a little loose on the big end and like I’ve done every other time in the past, I let off. This time when I let off it took a hard right. We are all pretty certain is way mechanical issue. We investigated a bunch of theories
and the most plausible is that I cracked one of my axles on launch. It held together under acceleration but as soon as I went into decel it let go and bound up.

The engine, transmission, most of interior except 2 airbags and drivers side exterior is all good. The passenger exterior is totalled and the frame is ripped.

We know the chances we take and we generally try to make the best decisions while using safety precautions but shit happens. Be Safe.

Like a lot of you, I’m pretty attached to this car, it’s not just a machine to me so this is tough. However, I am not a quitter, this is my sport, my hobbie, my passion! I am not sure what path I’m going to choose next but I have options. I will come back with something faster and just as sexy as the this car.

So sorry to hear man :(
Cars can be replaced; that’s the saying, but true.
It looks like the glass roof held up fine? I always have wondered how those do with accidents.
Good luck on the next phase, you’ll be stronger for it.

Sorry to see this and glad to hear you sustained no personal injuries. I've always heard insurance will deny coverage on something like this. If that's the case, I hope the part goes well.

As far was an axle snapping, those appear to be aftermarket, no?

Sorry for your loss. I almost had the same thing happen to me on the street before I gained full respect for the car. I got lucky and it slid sideways without hitting anything.

I hope you can find a suitable replacement soon. You may like the next car better.

Sorry about your loss, but at least you weren't hurt. Stuff happens, unfortunately, when racing. Let us know what you end up with as a replacement.

Sorry man that's gut wrenching to see. Are you buying back from insurance? Not reporting and just keeping?

I like Weather Man's comment about using a v6 downer chassis.

Thanks man, ya it sucks but what can you do it’s part of the game. Yup all glass besides pass door and triangle held up. Ya next car will be built better.

Thanks man, I’m grateful I never got hurt. I never bothered contacting insurance so it’s still a clean vin. Lol

Yes Mosier 31 spline custom alloys I put in last year after snapping. I should have went 33 or 35 spline since I hit the tires so hard when I launch.

Thanks, ya it sucks man.

wow look at that rear bent like a pretzel

Yup, welded tubes too so going to cut it off and see if my center section survived.

Glad you're OK.

You could swap into a V6 shell, if you do your own work for reasonable.

Thanks man, no Im parting out and plan to get another built Shelby.

Thanks Steve, I’m happy this happened at a track and not on the streets. If your car takes a hard right doing 105mph on the street you are hitting something, someone and more than likely flipping a few times. Lol

But thanks, the next one will have some big shoes to fill.

Thanks man, yes it could have for sure!

damn, hate to see you lose such a nice car but glad you came out unharmed

Trust me I feel those exact sediments! Thanks man.

Thanks Bob. Yup that’s right, we all know the risks. Definitely will do.

Thanks yes it is. No insurance while racing at the track so I’m parting it out and recouping everything I can.

Weird seeing another black one torn up. Glad it kept you alive! If you do part (saw you mention) can get decent money. Hell I’ve been hunting seat skins but they go so quick lpl

That really sucks, Razor, you had a badass ride. Glad to see you made it out without a scratch, though, and at least you've got a lot of parts to resale. You bent the hell out of your axle tube....damn. Any pics of that broken axle you think caused the wreck?

If you're parting out....are you interested in selling the Recaros? I'd take them off your hands for sure. I've got the same color combo on a 2011 and have been looking for a red stripe set forever.
