Well I have an opportunity to get a CO vert, which I’m not a fan of verts, just not my thing. With that said, I’m interested as I love CO’s in general and think I could probably trade for a CO coupe later on or sell for enough to get my hands on one.
Car is 2 owner with 20k miles all original. It’s not really up for sale but for trade for my 1990 coupe plus cash.
I know there are always a wide variety of opinions but I don’t see too many for sale on a low mile CO original vert.

there is not a more coveted car on this planet than the comp orange terminator convertible.

but seriously yeah you don't see them come up for sale too often esp if it is stock and low miles. i think the demand will always be there for the co cars and prices do seem to reflect that. if you know any svt build info on it i can check to see if we have any info such as last known location, etc. best of luck with it -

Thanks for the two prices but I figured like $10,000 more than that. Again, not a lot to compare but with the coupe values, I’d think mid 30’s anyway.

I see in your sig that your ‘90 is a 45k mile notch... is it in good shape? I personally would not give up your ‘90 notch for a CO Terminator. Nice Foxes are getting rare as hell. Terminators are plentiful and CO is just another color in my opinion.

As for vert vs. coupe Terminators... many prefer coupes. I prefer verts. As these cars age and shift from “race car” to classic, verts will command a premium over coupes. The same thing happened with 60s/70s muscle cars.

Share a pic of your Fox... I’d love to see it.

1990 Coupe

It's in really good shape except front lower clip, guy who owned it passed away in 2017, was second owner since 3/1991 and was in his 80's. For some reason he decided to have one of those le bra's on and put hot glue on the lower piece, so all the paint was jacked/peeling on the driver side. Also the driver front fender has been replaced at some point, no idea why but there is no frame or damage to the vehicle at all, everything is in place and all vin tags besides that one. Car is 100% stock down to the shift and radio. Map light and window visor lights work and even the ash tray, LOL. Clean Carfax with documented miles.

If Competition Orange is "just another color" then I guess 72 is "just another number"?

Laughable.

The thing with CO is that you can get regular GT's, Mach 1's, V6's etc. in the same CO color. Now, take a 10th Anniv or a Mystichrome and those 'packages' are only available on the Cobras.

I can see where he's coming from. CO is really 'just another color' while a Mystichrome or a 10th Anniversary is a 'package' with a separate certificate and numbering in addition to the Terminator certificate and numbering.

Well everyone has the right to their own opinion. Goose is obviously passionate about selling the future value of the terminator verts as well as the value of the MC in these types of threads.

Unfortunately the market says otherwise and has shown no signs of swinging in favor of verts. These cars are at the point now age wise where the clean examples are not raced, there are less expensive routes to go like the Coyote for that.

There are probably 5 times the amount of low mileage verts for sale at any one time. And they sit. These are facts.

Yes CO was available in every other mustang but those looking for a CO Terminator are not cross shopping a CO V6. It’s a rare color on the Terminator bottom line.

The MC guys seem to get very defensive in these threads.

OP I think $30k would be a good price but something tells me the seller isn’t asking close to that.

I feel collectors of the future will seek out the odd ball cars first.

As in, if memory isn’t failing me, an 04’ Oxford with charcoal inserts.....32 I think were made?

I know you were not responding to me, but we have all seen it at Barrett, Mekum, car circles in general. CO will always be a desirable car, but I would not pay top market premium for them yet...

That guy is gonna want more than $30K for the CO vert.

About the vert vs coupes. Sorry to say, the people on forums and FB groups are not the guys that are buying these cars for big dollars. You can check the marketplace here or on FB and when you see someone post a car for $35K, etc. the whole site will come down on that person and say that they're stupid and asking too much money, etc. Then, behind the scenes, the collectors are buying these cars for $40K and up. A few months ago, I know a guy who bought a 10K mile MC coupe for $45K out in Chicago, sight unseen! They shipped the car to him in Florida. We all probably know that place that sold the car. They always sell Terminators for a lot of money. He doesn't frequent forums. People on the FB group were fighting and saying it was too much money. The guy bought the car less than a few hours after it posted and is happy. If that car was posted here, there would be flames everywhere.
Just last week, I had someone offer me $35K for my car. I was tempted but I know I won't be able to find this again so I kept it but if I put this car up right now on this site for $30K, I would be getting tons of messages telling me that I'm asking too much....MC is not that special.....etc., etc.

Didn’t mean to start a MC vs CO thread...again, lol.

But like Dom said, there always seems to be a lot of lower mileage verts and they still sit, most look for coupes, at least on the forums I’m on.
As stated, I’m personally not a vert fan but am one of the CO coupe fans and would end up paying more that it’s probably worth if I could find one, .it’s all about ones preference and in my case, I will not be selling again, so I don’t care what’s it’s resale value is worth, it’ll be passed on to my daughter.
With that said, I really expected a CO vert to be worth more than 30k with those miles all original, two owner. Again, I wouldn’t have kept it anyway.
And yes Dom you’re right, guy was wanting my coupe plus $30k if which I had NO intentions of doing but wanted to gauge how far off we were. I value the coupe in the $15 range which some may say is high too but to me, it’s worth that....so no way I’m basically giving $45k for the vert. I’ve stated in s previous wtb thread that I’d do my ‘11 GT500 plus the 90 coupe for a terminator coupe with some cash difference depending on what it is. And in reality, my GT500 is probably a pretty even trade for a lower mileage CO coupe. But again, I want a CO bad enough to “overpay” some if you will. I lost a chance late last year to get one due to travel issues and have been trying to find one since.

I didn’t “ghost” him. Left my phone in the Uber which also had my DL in it, credit cards etc when dropped off at the airport. I had my plane ticket bought and was in line when I realized I didn’t have my phone. I lost several hundred on the non-refundable ticket too.
I know you two discussed as you both had for sale threads at the time and became buddies, after commenting in each other’s threads about tire kickers, but I made every effort to get there and lost out on money doing so.
I was ready to come get several weeks before and he wasn’t at that time, as he had plans that weekend, then we ran into bad weather as well.
His car is the one I mention above about losing out on, I wanted that car badly but at the time with the price, I had no budget to ship, so I was having to plan on driving back.

Yes, CO is a color and not a package upgrade like the 10th Anniversary and MC cars. I don’t dislike orange, but to be honest, the “wow factor” is diluted for me since I swear I see an orange V6 every time I am out running around. Don’t get me wrong though, I dig all Terminators... every color included, they are great cars and a good modern collectible.

Not trying to “sell” the future value of verts or MC cars and not getting defensive. It is too soon for the reversal or flip of coupe versus vert prices. The Terminators are still being modded and on the roads as “race cars.” As more time passes and these cars are viewed more as collector cars and Sunday cruisers, the flip will happen if history is any indicator. As for trying to inflate the future value of MC cars, sounds lovely, but I have zero plans on selling mine. I plan to give my cars to my boys at some point.

The point I was trying to make in my post above was the OP has a low-mile Fox notch. These are getting extremely hard to find. Terminators are quite plentiful in comparison. I personally would not be contemplating the trade.

Understood on that. I agree about the Fox Coupe as it used to really be one of my favorites as well as the 93 Cobra, however, my personal favorite now are the Terminators. If you are going to pass down as I plan too and you do, not really important what the resale value is. However, it is when you are going to sell or trade like I would if I got a CO Vert and it wouldn't be way down the road, looking for collector value, it would have been as soon as I could have found a coupe that maybe someone wanted to trade for the Vert. Everything, like baseball cards and all the other 'collectible' things, are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
KBB says the terminator isn't worth anywhere near the price people ask....value goes with the demand as we all know.

Oh and BTW, Goose, HP and Dom, you all have some of the nicest low mileage MC, SB and CO I've seen, love your cars.
